The Reincarnated Young Girl Is Adored by the Spirits She Helped in Her Previous Life :
I stuff the eggs into my pocket and return to Loa.
โBreaking eggs is pretty tricky, you know.โ
But since Iโm a dignified five-year-old, I can break eggs just fine.
While I tap the pointed end of the egg against the hard edge of the bed, Da-u comes over.
โWoof~?โ
Da-u is essentially saying, โLeave it to me if you mess up.โ
If the egg were to fall and break on the floor, Da-u would promptly lick it up, erasing all evidence.
โAlright, just in case, Iโll count on you, okay?โ
โWoof!โ
Da-u looks eager, drooling at the mouth.
โโฆDa-u, do you want some too?โ
โWoof?โ
Da-u denies it, but he definitely looks like he wants some.
โHmm? Did I crack it well?โ
โWoofโฆโ
I managed to only crack the pointed tip of the egg. Da-u looked a little disappointed.
โDa-u, want one too?โ
โWoof, woof.โ
Da-u tells me to give it to Loa. Even though Da-u is still young, heโs such a kind dog.
โAlright, if thereโs any left later, okay?โ
I go back to Loa and bring the cracked egg close to Loaโs mouth.
โLoa, hereโs an egg.โ
โRya? Rya-munya-munya.โ
Loa takes the egg in her hands and starts licking it, her face halfway buried in it.
โLooks like Loa likes eggs,โ says Sara, holding Loa.
โYeah, sheโs really into it.โ
Suddenly, Loa, who was happily eating the egg, freezes.
โWhatโs wrong?โ
โRyam?โ
Loa holds the egg out to Da-u. She seems to be saying, โItโs delicious; you should have some too.โ
โWoofโฆ woof?โ
Itโs no wonder Da-u is surprised.
Loa is a hungry baby, and she especially loves eggs.
And yet, sheโs offering some to Da-u.
She mustโve noticed earlier that Da-u likes eggs too.
โLoa, itโs okay. Thereโs still more eggs.โ
โRyaa?โ
โSee?โ
I take more eggs out of my pocket.
โThere are three more. These are for you, Loa.โ
โRyamu~โ
โDa-u can eat this one. Da-u, if you donโt eat, Loa might feel bad about eating alone.โ
โWoof!โ
Da-u happily takes an egg in his mouth and crunches it up, shell and all.
โWhoa, Da-u, you eat the shell too?โ
Sara seems a bit taken aback.
โWoof?โ
Da-u seems to be saying, โThe shell tastes good too, you know?โ
After that, Loa continued to eat her meal voraciously.
Once she finished eating, Loa let out a little burp and toddled over to the window, staring intently at the lake.
โSince yesterdayโฆ has Loa been curious about the lake?โ
Whenever Loa moves to the window wanting to go outside, sheโs always gazing at the lake.
I move to the window and pick her up.
โRyaaโฆโ
After looking at the lake with a sorrowful cry, Loa clings tightly to me.
There really is something unsettling about that lake.
โYeah, I feel like something is coming from the lake.โ
โLuria , something? Like, what exactly?โ
โI donโt know. Itโs hard to put into words.โ
โIโll ask the goats later, just in caseโฆโ
โPlease do. Itโs been on my mind.โ
After crying for a bit, Loa eventually falls asleep peacefully.
โShe mustโve gotten sleepy after eating so much,โ Sara says.
โYeah, sheโs so cute. Hehe.โ
I lay Loa down on the bed and cover her with a blanket.
I store the leftover food in the cupboard.
There are still about half of the caterpillars left. That should be enough for lunch.
With Loa asleep, the birds seem relieved and fly off.
Sara, Da-u, Carro, Koruko, Kuro, and I all laze about on the bed.
After lounging for a while, I start to feel drowsy. Itโs probably because we moved around so much earlier.
Perhaps about thirty minutes later, I wake up to the sound of a maidโs voice from outside the room.
โYoung ladies, breakfast is ready.โ
โHmm? Oh! Iโll get up right away!โ
I jump out of bed.
โIโll wake Sara and bring her along, so go on ahead.โ
โUnderstood.โ
After making sure the maid has left, I start waking everyone up.
โLoa, Luria and the others are going to eat breakfast.โ
โRyamu.โ
โCan you stay home alone?โ
โRyaa~โ
โItโs fine. Iโll definitely come back. Kuro, can I count on you?โ
I also ask Kuro to reassure Loa.
โLeave it to me. Loa, Lady Luria will only be gone for a short while, so donโt worry.โ
โRyamu~?โ
โLady Luria is just going to eat breakfast. If she doesnโt, sheโll get hungry.โ
โRya!โ
โCan you wait here?โ
โRyaa~โ
โShe says she can do it.โ
Kuro gently pats Loa.
โLoa, just wait a little, okay?โ
โRya.โ
โKuro, Koruko, Carroโฆ Iโm counting on you to look after Loa.โ
I canโt leave just Kuro to babysit Loa.
Kuro is reliable, but he doesnโt have a physical body.
โChirp, chirp.โ
โIโll bring your food back later, Koruko and Carro.โ
โChirp, chirp.โ
โIf anyone comes, Loa, you should hide in the cupboard.โ
โRyaa,โ chirped the birds in agreement.
I leave the cupboard slightly open so Loa can hide inside. If she does, Carro and Koruko can close it for her.
โIโll leave the window open, just in case.โ
If the windowโs open, the owls can help out in an emergency.โ
