“Take this! Eat it!”
Makita delivered a powerful punch straight to the face of the Grave Guardian. A loud, cracking noise echoed through the room.
The sound of part of the skeleton breaking. A fragment of the Grave Guardian’s bones chipped off and fell to the ground.
“Whoa! He actually damaged that monster!?”
“Incredible power and speed!”
“Could he actually win this!?”
“Whoa, not bad at all,” Daigo said, whistling as he watched Makita land a clean, critical hit.
His reaction was almost as if he had predicted this outcome all along.
“Daigo, did you already know Makita had the strength to take down this monster?”
“Well, I’ve seen him in action with my own eyes. I’m confident in my assessment of his power.”
Thanks to the dungeon’s magical influence, Daigo possessed an ability to perceive the potential of individuals.
That must be why Daigo remained unfazed, even as Makita confronted the Grave Guardian.
He was sure Makita’s skills wouldn’t let him lose to this monster.
“But… that doesn’t mean victory is guaranteed. The opponent is pretty strong too.”
“Wooooaaaarrrr!”
The Grave Guardian let out a ghastly roar and reached for Makita.
Makita tried to dodge, but the Guardian was slightly faster.
Makita’s left wrist was seized in a vice-like grip.
“Ahh… o-oof!”
A creaking noise filled the air. It sounded like bones being crushed by overwhelming force. Was Makita’s wrist being broken?
“Well, Jin’s durability might prevent a fatal injury… but with the way that grip is tightening, the outcome is still uncertain,” Daigo calmly analyzed.
“Are you saying his wrist might get crushed? Yikes, that’s terrifying. Jin, don’t lose!”
While Daigo gave a composed explanation, Ikezawa cheered fervently for Makita. But of course, cheering alone wasn’t about to cast any buffs.
“Damn it! You bastard!”
With his free hand, Makita struck the back of the Grave Guardian’s hand.
“Grrruhhh!”
The Grave Guardian let go, unable to withstand the blow.
Makita cradled his injured left wrist, clearly in pain. Even though the encounter was brief, it seemed to have caused significant damage.
A back-and-forth battle. One wrong move could mean instant death. The tension was palpable.
“He’s holding his own against that monster!?”
“Hang in there! You might actually win this!”
As the fight heated up and the chat was buzzing with excitement, Shiba set down his pen.
“Alright, the music looped. I should have extracted the Morse code now.”
“Nice work. Leave the decoding to us,” Daigo said, teaming up with Ikezawa to crack the code.
“Take this!”
Makita moved with blinding speed, delivering a kick aimed at the Grave Guardian’s lower body. It connected, forcing the creature to collapse to its knees.
“Whoa! He got it down!”
“Finish it now!”
“Jin, I always believed in you!”
“This ends here!”
Makita executed a devastating axe kick to the Grave Guardian’s head. With a resounding crack, its skull shattered.
The Guardian collapsed with a thud, motionless.
Makita’s powerful combo had sealed his victory in spectacular fashion.
“Ha… ha… I did it! You see that, huh!?”
“Jin is the strongest! Jin is the strongest! Jin is the strongest! Jin is the strongest!”
“Woooooaaaaahhhhh!!!!!”
“This is the presence of a champion.”
“I’ve hit the like button.”
Makita managed to defeat a monster that had taken down numerous dungeon streamers before. This was truly an incredible feat.
Sure, he has his flaws, like acting on his own without following orders, but his abilities are undeniably genuine.
In straightforward physical combat, he’s probably stronger than even Shiba. Power, speed, and defense—he excels in every aspect, taking down enemies just by brute force.
Ultimately, this battle reaffirmed that raw physical strength is the deciding factor. Forget relying on any kind of special abilities; it’s all about physicality.
His brute-force, muscle-brained fighting style might lack finesse, but it’s undeniably satisfying to watch.
“Alright, decoding complete. I’ll read it out loud.”
‘THIS IS A MESSAGE FOR MICHIRU.
I HID EVERYTHING THERE.
IN THE SAND CASTLE DUNGEON, AT
THE INTERSECTION OF POINT 452 AND 322.
IT IS BURIED THERE.’
“I think I got it right.”
“Thanks, Daigo. The Sand Castle Dungeon, huh? It’s pretty close from here. Kageno, what do you think? I’m ready to head out whenever.”
Shiba turned to me for my input. After a moment of thought, I made my decision.
“Well, it’s possible that this Misawa person might be watching this stream. If that’s the case, she might have also decoded the Morse code.”
“Or… she might be someone who didn’t want this to be decoded in the first place,” Shiba added.
Either way, it seemed like something valuable—something someone wanted to keep secret—was buried there.
We didn’t necessarily need to uncover it ourselves, but… for some reason, this was nagging at me.
First ¥4 million, then ¥10 million—someone wanted it badly enough to pay that much. The curiosity to see what it was with our own eyes was shared by everyone present.
“Uh… these point numbers represent coordinates within the dungeon, right?”
Yukiya mentioned the points, something that had also caught my attention.
“Yeah, that’s right. They indicate the distances north, south, east, and west from the dungeon’s entrance. Think of one point as one meter. In this case, it means the treasure is buried 452 meters north and 322 meters east from the entrance.”
Shiba explained. These coordinates were crucial for navigating within the dungeon.
“Let’s make sure to bring a high-functionality compass for dungeon use. Without it, pinpointing the location will be tough.”
Daigo took a compass out of his pouch. It wasn’t active at the moment, but once inside the dungeon, it would point toward the entrance, showing both direction and distance.
Using the compass, we’d be able to determine our current position.
“As for guiding us to the treasure’s coordinates… let’s see. Kaito, would you mind taking charge?”
“Me? Wait, isn’t this Daigo’s job…?”
“I can do it, but experience is key. Youngsters grow best when given opportunities.”
Daigo handed the compass to Ikezawa.
“Alright, I’ll give it a shot. I’m a bit nervous, but I’ll do my best.”
Ikezawa, usually in a support role, wasn’t accustomed to frontline tasks. But this was a good chance for him to learn.
“Alright, Kageno. Could you handle the stream setup? In the meantime, we’ll double-check our gear for the dungeon.”
“Got it! So, all four of us are heading to the Sand Castle Dungeon?”
At Shiba’s prompting, I began preparing for the stream. The decision to dive into the dungeon was a bit last-minute, so it was hectic, but it couldn’t be helped.
Before setting out, I decided to share my thoughts.
“Everyone, I don’t think there’s any real need for us to do this dungeon stream.”
Truthfully, we didn’t even know what was buried there.
“But… something about this feels off. At the same time, uncovering whatever it is might be worth it. That’s just my gut feeling.”
“Someone risked hiding a message in a dangerous dungeon and buried something there. It’s definitely not normal. Even if you told us to leave it alone, Kageno, I’m still going for it,” Shiba said.
Surprisingly, Shiba was eager to dive into this mystery. Well, I guess that’s to be expected. Dungeon streamers thrive on their curiosity for the unknown.
