“So… does that mean… that one day I’ll be attacked by bandits and taken away from this house?”
This is actually a story about Seras told in the work. Seras was born as the eldest son of a prestigious noble family, but when he was about sixteen, he was attacked by bandits, sold to a slave trader, and eventually bought by a depraved noble.
As a sex slave to this twisted noble, Seras suffered terrible abuse every day, and gradually, his mind began to break. However, rather than becoming a mere shell of a person, Seras turned into an unhinged madman.
One day, after he had descended into madness, Seras grabbed a knife left in the depraved noble’s house and brutally murdered his master.
After killing the depraved noble, Seras stole everything of value from the estate and used that wealth to build the strongest mercenary group.
And the story’s main plot follows this mercenary group, led by Seras, as they ally with the Demon King and commit acts of unthinkable cruelty.
So, even a villainous boss like Seras has a tragic backstory… but after he repeatedly raped my favorite female character, driving her insane before beheading her with a laugh, he really doesn’t deserve any sympathy.
“Sigh… but why would I be reincarnated as a villain with such a chaotic life? All I wanted was a peaceful life.”
I muttered with a sigh.
Since I’m supposedly destined to be attacked by bandits soon, sold to a twisted noble, and suffer unimaginable torment until my spirit breaks, right? There’s no way I’d want to endure that… not to mention, being assaulted every night by that depraved noble sounds like a nightmare.
And if it’s already set that I’ll be tortured and executed after being captured by the army… no, that’s just horrible. I don’t want to die…
Wait, hold on a second.
“…Actually, couldn’t I avoid getting attacked by bandits if I just train myself to be strong enough to fight them off?”
If Seras got attacked by bandits at sixteen and sold off to slave traders, then maybe, since I know about it beforehand, I should start training my body so I’ll have enough strength to fend off any bandits who come my way.
“Besides, I’m supposed to be Seras Alfeid, one of the strongest bosses in the game, right? If I start training now, there’s no way some bandits would be able to beat me, right?”
I quickly arrived at that conclusion.
Most likely, the reason the original Seras was captured by bandits in the game was because he wasn’t strong enough. Judging from what that jerk of a father said earlier, I was probably forced to study magic from a young age.
But I, Seras Alfeid, have zero talent for magic. So no matter how much I studied magic as a kid, it would be completely pointless.
I know this because in the game, Seras’s stats reflect this. You face Seras multiple times in the game, and each time you can check his stats, but his magic stat stays at “0” from start to finish.
However, in the final battle, all of Seras’s stats except for magic are maxed out, making him terrifyingly powerful.
Because of those insane stats, Seras was an incredibly difficult boss to beat, much harder than the final battle with the Demon King…
“So that means I can’t waste time just studying magic. I need to start training my body if I want to survive!”
If I can avoid being captured by bandits, I can probably live a life without falling into darkness.
And then, I’ll absolutely live a relaxing, slow-paced life!
“Alright, then from now on, I’ll train my body to fight off bandits, and if I want to eventually enjoy a slow life, I’ll need to think about ways to earn money too!”
My ultimate goal is a peaceful, slow life of farming and fishing. For that, I’ll definitely need money.
As for making money, I’ve already got an idea. I’ll try it out the next time I go to town.
“Well, I guess that’s all I need to think about for now.”
Of course, there are plenty of other things to worry about, but as long as I can build up my strength and come up with a plan to earn money, I should be fine.
“Alright, let’s start with some basic sword swings!”
And so, from that day on, I began training every day. First, I grabbed the self-defense sword that was kept in the shed and practiced swinging it until I was exhausted.
