“Yo! What’s up, it’s Jin. We’re doing a dungeon stream today too!”
Makita-san greets the stream. Since it’s the dungeon with the treasure chest everyone’s been talking about, a lot of viewers are tuning in.
Viewer Comments:
- “You’re still trying to challenge that treasure chest?”
- “Don’t do it, don’t do it. Even Jin can’t beat that monster.”
- “The quest is still open, but no one’s been brave enough to challenge the treasure chest after all this time.”
As expected, since this dungeon became popular for a while, viewers are assuming Makita-san’s goal is to bring back the treasure chest.
The Grave Guardian monster is tough, and since the treasure is judged to be worth only about 4 million yen, everyone gave up on trying to retrieve it.
Though I’m not telling Makita-san that the goal is just to open the chest, I’m curious how this will go.
Viewer Comments:
- “Honestly, trying to bring that treasure chest back now is dumb.”
“Huh? Who called me dumb? Are you looking down on me? You think a weak monster like that can take me down?”
This is bad. Makita-san has been triggered. This is why it’s problematic when people have low tolerance for teasing.
I gave Shiba-san a look. Since Makita listens to Shiba-san, I asked him to take charge this time.
“Jin-san, don’t get worked up. Let’s focus and head toward the treasure chest.”
“…Tch. Lucky you, Viewer A. I’m feeling generous today, so you get to live.”
Makita-san, after receiving Shiba-san’s advice, seemed to calm down. It’s going to be a tough ride, but Makita-san’s strength is real.
If he listens to Shiba-san’s instructions, we should be able to carry out the mission without any problems.
If he listens to instructions… that is.
As we were talking, monsters started gathering around Makita-san. He smirked and charged toward the monsters.
“Hey! Jin-san! That’s the opposite direction from the treasure chest…!”
Shiba-san warned him, but it was too late—Makita had already punched a monster.
“Ha! A strong monster, I’m ready to go!”
Viewer Comments:
- “This is why I came here.”
- “Wow, one punch and that monster’s out.”
- “Jin’s charm is that fiery temper.”
It looks like Makita-san’s audience is mostly battle maniacs, and they’re getting hyped up by this sight. The comments are flooding in, and the situation is getting out of hand.
“Take this!”
Makita-san delivered a roundhouse kick to take down another monster. He’s completely doing whatever he wants at this point.
“Jin-san! That’s enough! Head toward the treasure chest!”
“I’m not stopping until I’ve beaten all these monsters!”
Viewer Comments:
- “As expected from Jin! Doing things we wouldn’t dare to!”
- “This is so inefficient, but it’s funny.”
- “People just rush straight for the treasure chest in this dungeon, but this is fun to watch.”
In terms of entertaining the audience, he certainly has flair as a streamer.
But in terms of exploration, it’s utterly inefficient.
He’s even ignoring Shiba-san’s instructions and started fighting monsters on his own. What will happen next?
“This is the last one!”
Makita-san struck the final monster with a punch. The battle lasted 6 minutes and 12 seconds. A rather wasteful amount of time.
He’s reliable when it comes to taking down monsters, but when it comes to anything else, he’s a handful.
This is why I hesitate to formally recruit him.
“Now then… so where should I go?”
“Jin-san, make a U-turn and head straight.”
Following Shiba-san’s instructions, Makita-san began walking in the opposite direction.
Surprisingly, he quickly found the treasure chest. Luckily, he didn’t encounter any more monsters.
“Alright, here we go. I’m opening it!”
Ikezawa-san had already disabled the trap on the chest. Even someone without the skills to deactivate traps, like Makita-san, should be able to open it without any issues.
The chest popped open, and music started playing.
“Alright, I’m going to focus on the music now. I’ll be extracting the wrong notes, so I won’t be able to give Jin-san any further instructions…”
“Well, the goal’s already been achieved, so it’s fine.”
By now, we can relax a bit. I’ll wear the intercom Shiba-san had on just in case I need to give instructions.
Whether Makita-san will listen to me is uncertain, but there probably won’t be any need for further instructions.
Viewer Comments:
- “Wait, is he just opening the chest?”
- “Aren’t you bringing it back?”
- “Hey, hey, Jin, are you scared?”
- “What? I was expecting Jin to fight that crazy strong monster.”
- “Jin-san, you’ve really softened up.”
“Ha…? You guys. You’re saying whatever you want, huh?”
Huh? Why is this person getting triggered by the comments?
“Makita-san! Don’t fall for the provocation in the comments!”
Damn it. If I had known this would happen, I should have set it so that comments couldn’t be made before sending him in. Since this is Makita-san’s account streaming, I can’t block the comments from my side.
Viewer Comments:
- “The Jin I know wouldn’t back down like this.”
- “So lame, lol.”
“Y-You guys…!”
Seriously, the viewers are really provoking him. What am I supposed to do now? Wait, is there some aspect of this as pro-wrestling?
“Fine then. I’ll lift this stupid treasure chest!”
This is bad. I have to stop this…
“Makita-san! Stop! If you do that, he’s going to show up…!”
“I don’t care what happens now!”
Makita-san picked up the treasure chest and pretended like he was going to take it with him. Oh no. By doing that, he triggered the conditions for the Grave Guardian to appear.
It’s all because of the provoking comments. What the heck am I supposed to do now?
Out of the shadows of the dungeon, a skeletal monster appeared. No doubt about it—it’s the Grave Guardian.
“Heh, you finally showed up.”
Makita-san placed the treasure chest down and started heading toward the Grave Guardian.
“Eito-kun, what should we do? We can’t just leave Jin-san alone, right?”
Kōya is worried about Makita-san. The quickest way to help him would be to send in members from the Shadow Stars.
“No. Kōya-kun, I don’t think that’s necessary. Jin-san knew the risks when he decided to pick up the treasure chest. He’ll have to take responsibility for not following the instructions. Dungeons are ultimately about personal responsibility.”
Daigo-san made a calm judgment. It might sound cold, but in this case, Makita-san really brought this on himself.
“This is MY prey!”
“Also, Jin-san doesn’t seem like he wants anyone else to step in.”
Daigo-san added. That’s true. If we send in reinforcements, it could backfire and he might resent us for it.
“Take this!”
Makita-san tried to punch the Grave Guardian in the face, but the Grave Guardian caught his fist with its hand.
“What?!”
Makita-san was surprised that the attack was blocked. He quickly followed up with a kick to the Grave Guardian, sending it flying backward.
“Phew. That was close. I didn’t expect it to grab my fist.”
Makita-san was shaking his wrist.
“That’s some insane grip strength. I thought that bone freak was going to crush my bones.”
Makita-san can’t use magic, but his body is incredibly tough. The fact that he thought his own bones might break shows just how strong the Grave Guardian’s grip is.
If it were a normal person, just being grabbed would probably mean an automatic loss.
Meanwhile, Shiba-san is apparently still writing out Morse code without any issues. Even with the noise from the battle, his concentration is impressive.
