The second day of this week. Today’s first class is with Class C.
When I said that, the students of Class C obediently took their seats as instructed.
In this class as well, those who tried to disrupt the lesson were quietly silenced with chalk projectiles, so even the students who opposed me sat down without causing any trouble and began to attend the lesson.
“Uh, Geek-sensei, this period is supposed to be Basic Magic class, but…?”
Bern, who also participates in the usual study sessions, raised his hand and asked a question.
“Ah, the Basic Magic instructor, Manati-sensei, has resigned due to personal reasons. Until a new instructor is found, I will be teaching this class.”
The fact that Manati had been disciplined had not yet been announced at the school.
After Manati was detained yesterday, I read his memories to confirm that there were no other masterminds involved, and I reported the evidence of his involvement in the kidnapping of Eliza and Sophia to the knights.
I made sure to keep him barely sane. At the very least, he wouldn’t have the courage to talk about me, who silenced him. Even if he did, it wouldn’t cause a major issue.
I also left evidence at the criminal organization’s hideout, and along with Count Claude’s family, we will ensure that he faces proper punishment.

“Since the Defense Magic class overlaps with the class the day after tomorrow, for the time being, this class will be swapped with the Magic Tools class, so please bear with me.”
Until the official announcement from the country, I will be in charge of the Basic Magic class, which Manati used to teach, until a new instructor is found. Since I teach four classes a week, each for two or three periods, there’s still some room in my schedule.
The classes that overlap with the Defense Magic classes will be swapped with other subjects.
“Geek-sensei, you can teach Basic Magic as well as Defense Magic?”
Another student raised their hand and asked a question.
“Ah, no problem. In fact, I’m more comfortable teaching Basic Magic than Defense Magic.”
Basic Magic, as the name suggests, is a class that deepens understanding of basic magic techniques and attributes. It is the foundation for other magic classes, so it is a very important subject.
At the very least, it’s better than the way that person taught it. I also need to be careful not to let the lesson go too far off-topic. A little deviation from the subject during lessons is fun, but in my case, I love magic too much, so I might go off on a tangent. Researchers love to talk about their field.

After school, during the usual study session, the first thing that came up was the story of today’s Basic Magic class. Since there were classes for both B and C today, Bern, as well as Cyril and Melia, also knew about it.
“…Wouldn’t it have been better if you told us about this yesterday?”
Cyril said with some dissatisfaction.
“Sorry, this was really decided at the last minute. In fact, Manati-sensei was teaching the Basic Magic class normally until yesterday. Preparing for this class in just one day was quite a challenge for me.”
Apparently, Manati had taught the Basic Magic class normally yesterday, perhaps to avoid suspicion. And since there was also a class for Eliza and Sophia in S-Class, it was really shameless of him.
I had already discussed this with Anon beforehand, so we had planned for this. With a teacher suddenly disappearing, we had to make sure to handle the situation properly.
“I’m looking forward to Geek-sensei teaching Basic Magic. At the very least, there will be more to learn than from the previous lessons.”

Cyril and Melia, still a bit flustered by Eliza’s reaction, seemed to be adjusting. It was only the second day, so I hope they’ll be able to interact normally soon.
Since there was no Basic Magic class for S-Class today, Eliza and Sophia will have it tomorrow.
“I’m glad to hear that. I’ll also try to be careful not to let the lesson go off on too many tangents.”
Although my burden increased a bit, it was a big relief to be able to get rid of Manati, who had been ignoring Melia’s SOS, especially with her troublesome noble background. Manati had tried to kill Eliza and Sophia, and he was truly disqualified not just as a teacher, but as a human being.
I still worry that there might be other teachers like him. I want to investigate the other teachers’ classes too.
