Slimes are made of water, so I didn’t think water could do much against them.

Shiba-san looked at the Gold Gel on Lena-tan’s shoulder with an expression of despair.
“Daigo-kun. Please take care of the others. I’ll handle this one.”

Shiba-san said he’d handle it, but… can he really? The Gold Gel had grown larger than before and was spreading over Lena-tan’s body.

Shiba-san poured water onto the Gold Gel on Lena-tan, but it didn’t lose any color at all. It was as if water had no effect.

Shiba-san raised his spear and confronted the Gold Gel. The Gold Gel laughed and looked down at Shiba-san with a mocking expression.
“I am what you call the Gold Gel. I devoured this woman’s flesh, absorbed her genes, and gained both intelligence and this form. In a way, I can be considered her daughter or sister.”
“Wh-what are you talking about! Don’t act like my daughter! I’m still single!”
Is that the issue here?
“I won’t fall for tricks like last time. Don’t think you can defeat me with such shallow knowledge, like neutralizing me!”
The Gold Gel detached part of its body and launched it like a bullet.
“Ugh…!”
Shiba-san spun his spear like a windmill. The spinning motion deflected the slime’s bullet attacks.
“Hehe. You’re not bad.”
The Gold Gel had a relaxed expression. Shiba-san, on the other hand, was sweating and panting heavily.
The only way to stop those attacks was by spinning the spear at high speed, which was exhausting. This thing is strong enough to make Shiba-san sweat.
“Kaito-kun! I need a buff! I can’t handle this alone!”
“Y-yes! Go for it, everyone!”
Ikezawa-san shouted loudly. With that, the buff should have been applied to everyone in the group.
“Just what do you think your cheering will do? It’s nothing but a mere distraction.”
“We’ll see about that.”
Shiba-san moved at high speed and thrust his spear forcefully into the Gold Gel’s left arm.
“Wha…! It’s so fast…”
“Don’t forget about me!”
Kōya cut off the Gold Gel’s head with his sword.
“Yes!!”
“We got the boss’s head!”
“Nice job, Kōya!”
“Not yet.”
As Shiba-san had said, the Gold Gel’s head grew back quickly.
“You underestimate the regeneration ability of slimes.”
The severed head sluggishly moved and was absorbed back into the Gold Gel’s body, completely healing it.
“…?”
Kōya looked away from the Gold Gel and toward his sword. I also looked at Kōya’s sword.
What is that…? There’s some sort of aura coming from Kōya’s sword.
“Kōya-kun. Don’t look away.”
“Ah, yes!”
Shiba-san didn’t seem to notice, but Kōya’s sword definitely seemed to be glowing with something.
