It has probably been around five years since the formation of the Curse Brotherhood.
I feel like there have been enough events to fill 300,000 characters in a book.
Time flies, and after five years in this world, you get used to a lot of things.
These days, hunting bandits in the nearby mountains, fishing, chopping firewood, practicing sorcery, and playing the mastermind villain as a Curse have all become part of my daily routine.
Oh, and there’s also rewarding the Three Knights—or rather, the Seven Knights Sevenths now.
I never thought I’d have so many subordinates after just five years.
Heh, my own charisma scares me.
I’ve been living energetically, still striving to become the ultimate villainous mastermind.
“White North Sein and the adventurer party ‘Weapons’ have succeeded in the first-ever human ascent and conquest of the White Dragon Mountain Range! A celebratory event is planned in the Imperial Capital, with royalty in attendance.”
“Scarlet Elva Creekrider has been recognized as one of the Seven Sages at the Magic Academy. Could this signal a change in the long-standing war between the elves and humans?”
“The dark side of the Imperial Capital: wealthy merchant Onnaku Kodomour Dacwal, murdered within his mansion, guarded by a first-class adventurer. A black handprint was left at the scene—could this be the work of the assassination guild ‘Shadowhand’? The number of high-ranking corrupt officials rumored to be involved in this, who have been killed this month, is up to six.”
Thanks to Scarlet and the others, I’ve managed to learn how to read the script of this world.
Now I can enjoy reading the morning newspaper in the refreshing air.
…Those guys, becoming famous without me again…!
No, no, calm down.
Not being able to celebrate your subordinates’ success would be small-minded.
A villain should have unfathomable tolerance.
Calm yourself, breathe.
For now, I’ll start with my usual morning routine.
Over the past five years, I’ve gained new powers.
The more I synchronize with the Life Field, the stronger I become.
“Navi, show me the skill tree.”
“Displaying skill tree.”
A voice echoed, and my vision turned white.

…Nice.
What is this feeling?
It’s kind of like looking at my bank account.
Though I’ve never worked properly, so maybe it’s not quite the same.
The progress I’ve made in these five years is clearly visible, and it feels pretty good.
But I do have some concerns.
“Uuugh…”
“Guh…”
“No way… the leader of the Gifted, unable to do anything…”
“You have wiped out the Abyss Bandit Group. Your total bandit kills now exceed 10,000.”
“…I’m not leveling up.”
Maybe I’m just not talented enough.
It’s not like I’ve only been fighting bandits—I’ve defeated monsters here and there as a Curse, too, just going with the flow…
‘Bumomomo.’
“Whoa, what’s up, boar? You trying to comfort me?”
‘Bumomo.’
‘Choo-choo.’
‘Moo.’
A boar, a mouse, and a cow.
These are some of the creatures I’ve tamed with my gifts over the past five years.
Their ink-paint-style, deformed animal forms nuzzle against me, licking my face and sticking to my head.
This must be animal therapy…!
I feel a little better.
Yeah, that’s right. I’m still just a mob character.
I was an ordinary person to begin with—there’s no need to rush.
“My king, you were here after all.”
Suddenly, a voice calls out from behind me.
I recognized the voice.
