Having taken care of my errands, I finally arrived home. It might not have been wise to make the girls walk around so much, even if they are slaves. But then again, slaves are meant to work. I didn’t buy them to keep them as decorations.
I put the bag of money into the safe. It doesn’t have a lock.
It might seem careless, but this house has its own security features. A simple but powerful spell prevents entry to anyone not invited.
I registered the two slave girls when we entered the house.

The girls stood there, waiting for my next words.
There were sofas prepared opposite me as well.

“Yes.”
They finally sat down after I spoke. Even their way of sitting was elegant and refined.
“Your names were Noel and Arnella, right?”
Noel had flaxen hair, and Arnella had silver hair.
“To reiterate, the reason I bought you two is to maintain and manage this house, and to take care of me. As an adventurer, I often have to leave home. I bought this house that was up for sale, but leaving it vacant frequently would cause it to deteriorate. Plus, as an adventurer, I have many valuable items.”
The girls listened to my words with serious expressions. Good.
“Having strangers come in and steal things would be unpleasant. That’s why I bought you two.”
“You can count on us. We can handle cleaning, laundry, and cooking.”
“Good answer. If you work well, you will be treated accordingly. So, do you have any special skills?”
From the way they spoke and behaved, it seemed they would be capable of fulfilling the roles I needed. Heavy labor has mostly been replaced by magical furniture, so if they work diligently, two girls should be enough. Their efficiency was still unknown, but that would improve with time.
Still, I should know what they can do. They are my property after all.
Noel answered first.
“I can do calculations and dance. I can handle the books for a small shop.”
Then Arnella spoke.
“I can also dance, and I can use support magic. I was told I have more magic power than average.”
Is dancing a required skill or something? Well, having cute girls dance would surely be a sight to behold.
Noel could help with the bookkeeping, and Arnella could use support magic. Perhaps Noel could assist with my work.
Adventurers can’t get by with haphazard calculations. Keeping track of income and expenses is essential, but it’s tedious. Even in a party, leaving all the finances to the leader is unacceptable. Kasugal wasn’t a bad person, and the party’s settlement money was almost exactly what I expected.
If Noel could handle some of the calculations and I just had to check them, it would make things easier. Noel would have no reason to cheat. In fact, the more I earn, the better the slaves’ treatment would be.
“Alright, both of you, show me your dancing.”
“Yes.”
I had them dance since they claimed they could. They stood up immediately, moved to a spot with no obstacles, bowed to me, and started dancing.
They must have practiced together. Their movements were in sync. I couldn’t judge the quality of the dance, but it seemed quite sharp. Their skirts fluttered with each movement, almost revealing but not quite… no, actually revealing.
But they were still too young to incite any desire in me. In a few years, though, they’d become beautiful women.
The two girls danced earnestly, smiling at me while their skirts fluttered. It looked rather silly from an outsider’s perspective.
They were so serious about it that I felt a bit guilty. I clapped my hands to stop their dance and praised them.
The two of them, sweating, bowed deeply to me. They were well-trained and too valuable to waste. I should take good care of them.
Since they were sweaty, I guided them to the bathroom. They seemed to have no trouble handling the magical furniture.
The magical furniture runs on magic stones. When I’m here, I’ll replenish them, and when I’m not, they’ll go to the magic stone shop to replace them.
They’ll take money from the safe to buy the stones. I doubt those two would act impulsively. If they did steal, it would be unfortunate, but… If they’re to manage the house, they’ll also manage the money when I’m away. I’ll have to trust them with the money in the safe.
I instructed them to clean the bath and take one themselves. I had brought back enough supplies, clothes, and towels for a few days, so there shouldn’t be any issues. I told them to take their time.
It’s a hassle to give instructions every time, so eventually, they’ll need to learn to act on their own.
A connoisseur might have them wash together, but maybe I’ll have them wash my back someday.
