[Full Power] Newbie Mercenary Support Thread 1480
1: Anonymous Mercenary
This thread is aimed at reducing the death rate of newbie mercenaries.
The opponents are newbies who don’t know their left from their right.
Let’s be kind in how we approach them.

320: Anonymous Mercenary
I’m a high school mercenary who just started diving.
What is a large-scale raid?
A guild member recommended I join because it’s profitable, but whenever I try to ask for more details, they just say “It’s fine, it’s fine.”
It seems like all the other party members are going to participate.
321: Anonymous Mercenary
You absolutely should not join that.
No joke, you’ll die.
322: Anonymous Mercenary
Ugh, the evil guild is at it again.
Never recommend a large-scale raid to a newbie.
323: Anonymous Mercenary
I still have PTSD from my first large-scale raid.
324: Anonymous Mercenary
Is a large-scale raid really that dangerous?
325: Anonymous Mercenary
324
They call it a large-scale raid like it’s a game, but in essence, it’s a war against monsters.
The guild members are probably trying to use you as cannon fodder.
If you die, they don’t have to pay you the reward.
326: Anonymous Mercenary
324
Since you just started, you probably don’t have a rank yet, right?
327: Anonymous Mercenary
325
Thank you for the info.
I can’t trust the guild anymore.
326
Yeah, I don’t have one.
In fact, I just learned about ranks now.
328: Anonymous Mercenary
I’m seeing more and more people hate their guilds, lol.
329: Anonymous Mercenary
There are also nice guild members, though (shivering).
330: Anonymous Mercenary
It’s better to have the stance of not trusting the guild at all.
Seriously, it’ll extend your life.
331: Anonymous Mercenary
327
If that’s the case, you should definitely not participate in the large-scale raid.
In those raids, non-ranked mercenaries are given menial tasks, and those tasks are super dangerous. Usually, half of the people doing those tasks die.
As for ranks, they typically go in the order of Copper, Silver, Gold—Copper < Silver < Gold.
There are rumors of higher ranks, but I’ve never met anyone who has one.
Sorry for the vague info, I don’t really know either.
332: Anonymous Mercenary
The guild tends to keep its mercenaries ignorant because it’s easier to control them. They intentionally withhold information.
For example, the information about the monsters’ abnormal behavior was sealed off so that newbies wouldn’t be scared and stop diving.
333: Anonymous Mercenary
331
Thank you for the detailed explanation.
I’ll share this with the rest of the party members and try to convince them not to join.
332
What’s this abnormal behavior you’re talking about?
334: Anonymous Mercenary
332
What’s that? I didn’t know about it either.
335: Anonymous Mercenary
Abnormal behavior means that monsters appear where they’re not supposed to. For example, you might expect to only find slimes near the entrance of a dungeon, but then you see a beast-type monster instead.
When this happens, newbies end up fighting monsters that are way too strong for them and usually die.
336: Anonymous Mercenary
Ah, I see.
Come to think of it, there are periods when the newbie death rate is especially high.
That might be the reason.
337: Anonymous Mercenary
335
I see now.
There’s so much I didn’t know, this is really helpful.
338: Anonymous Mercenary
335
Where did you hear this from?
I have a silver rank, but I’ve never heard of anything like that.
339: Anonymous Mercenary
338
I heard this from an information broker.
I’ll add some other things I’ve heard:
- Abnormal behavior is a precursor to a large-scale raid.
- Abnormal behavior is still happening.
- The academy is leading the large-scale raid.
- The next large-scale raid will be chaotic.
340: Anonymous Mercenary
339
This info is seriously helpful.
341: Anonymous Mercenary
339
Don’t you get called “reliable” a lot?
342: Anonymous Mercenary
I feel kind of bad for the info broker, but I’m really lucky to get this info for free.
343: Anonymous Mercenary
…Am I the only one who feels like there’s something off about the last piece of info?
Doesn’t it sound strange?
344: Anonymous Mercenary
343
Yeah, it does.
It almost feels like a teaser for the next episode.
345: Anonymous Mercenary
Sometimes, information brokers say things that make it sound like they can see the future, huh?
This text is part of an online thread where mercenaries discuss their experiences and warn each other about the dangers of large-scale raids. There’s a mix of advice and ominous warnings, with some people sharing rumors and insider knowledge.
