The summer of my fifteenth year had arrived. Both the martial arts and magic tournaments were held, and I emerged victorious in the magic tournament. I even defeated Reinhardt-kun in the exhibition match.
This makes me equal to my father, who hasn’t lost to anyone for five years. Heh heh heh.
Reinhardt-kun has been working hard to level up and reached a remarkable level of 340, even as a student. However, the gap between us is still considerable, and he ended up with an unfortunate result.
“I’ve lost again. Toma-kun, you’re truly strong.”
“Seeing your efforts, Reinhardt-kun, I push myself to ensure you don’t catch up.”

Such a refreshing handsome guy, as always. Seeing his unrelenting charm for no particular reason made me want to go to the ocean.
It’s summer, after all. Why not take a trip to the beach?
“Should we go swimming?”
When I murmured those words, Reinhardt-kun reacted, flashing his pearly white smile.
“If we’re going swimming, that must mean training. Can I join you?”
No, it’s not training… quite the opposite—it’s just for fun.
“Oh my, is it training? Please allow me to join as well.”
“Hey, I’m coming too!”
Even Lady Lene and Daniel joined in.
Well, it can’t be helped. I’ll play, but for everyone else, let’s call it “training.”
Since the ocean is far away, we’ll make it a day trip to the river. The Lyver River is nearby, and people often bathe there during summer. It should be fine.
And so, we’ve arrived at a branch of the Lyver River!
If you head upstream from the royal capital, you’ll find a tributary of the Lyver River. This part of the river isn’t too deep, and the current isn’t too fast, making it perfect for river play. Plus, there aren’t many boats passing through.
What’s more, it’s a crystal-clear river that epitomizes the word “pure stream.”
“What a beautiful river.”
“It’s emerald green.”
“I didn’t know there was such a lovely river near the royal capital.”
When Reinhardt-kun decided to go, Claudia, Bruno, and Deborah decided to tag along as well. In the end, it’s the usual group.
To prepare, I got something ready for everyone.
“Ta-da! What do you think of these?”
Swimsuits!
“Aren’t we supposed to swim in armor?”
“Reinhardt-kun, have you ever swum before?”
“No, I haven’t.”
Though there are naval and marine units that operate on water, swimming isn’t common in this country. There’s no swimming class at the academy either.
“You’re underestimating water, Reinhardt-kun!”
“Huh?”
“If you swim in armor, you’ll drown!”
“I-Is that so?”
Even wearing clothes while swimming greatly increases the risk of drowning. Swimming in something as heavy as armor is out of the question.
“If you don’t want to die, you need to start by learning to swim in lighter clothing.”
“So that’s why you’re dressed like that. Got it—I’ll wear one too.”
By the river, I used conversion magic to create a small hut. I didn’t care much about the guys, but I made sure the girls had a proper place to change, complete with showers, toilets, and a dressing room.
“Go ahead and change. Oh, and make sure to put this on.”
“What is this?”
“It’s sunscreen. Apply it to avoid getting sunburned.”
“There’s such a convenient thing!?”
“It reduces sunburn a lot and doesn’t feel sticky. I think it’s great.”
“Where did you get this?!”
“I made it myself.”
“Lord Toma!”
“Y-Yes?”
“Would you consider selling this to me regularly?”
“Uh, sure.”
Lady Lene seemed particularly eager. Though she’s in the liberal arts class, her swordsmanship rivals that of students in the knight program. For someone who practices outdoors, avoiding sunburn is probably a serious concern.
Incidentally, the sunscreen is made with slime gel as its main ingredient. Truly, slime gel is an all-purpose material.
The guys changed behind a “human wall” formed by maids and butlers, while the girls peered out from the hut.
“A-Are we really going to swim dressed like this…?” asked Lady Deborah hesitantly.
“Light clothing is the basics of swimming,” I assured her.
Lady Lene emerged next, wearing a white one-piece swimsuit with a pareo wrapped around her waist. Her slender figure, yet well-defined curves, made her look like a goddess of beauty.
“Lord Toma?”
“Ah, um, it suits you very well, Lady Lene.”
While everyone admired the girls’ swimsuits, I began preparing for the barbecue. Sure, their swimsuits were eye-catching, but if I stared too long, I’d be too captivated to focus—especially by Lady Lene, who was dazzlingly beautiful.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m preparing for a barbecue—our lunch.”
“Why not leave that to the servants?”
“That would defeat the purpose!”
Barbecues were something I dreamed of in my previous life. I never got to experience one before reincarnating into this world. It was one of my regrets.
That’s why I wanted to enjoy a proper barbecue and create lasting memories.
Just as I started grilling skewers of A4-grade wagyu beef, pork, tuna, and vegetables, a man on horseback appeared.
He was a large man in his thirties, and the knights immediately became alert.
“Apologies for my tardiness. I am Leon Talsh Paltochour, Baron and the overseer of this land.”
I had informed the local lord that we’d be here for “training,” but… I didn’t invite him. What impeccable timing, showing up just before lunch!
