Dungeon Start Heroine Tamer and Training Mission! ~Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about strong, cute, and beautiful female adventurers… All of them are my followers!
The words “dungeon” and “monster” were nominated for the buzzword of the year over 20 years ago, it seems.
By now, they have probably become widely accepted.
They’re even taught in school and can be found in major dictionaries.
In fact, they even come up in everyday conversations.
“Adventurer” has become a regular contender in the rankings of jobs children aspire to.
It’s also a popular genre in dramas, standing alongside “lawyer shows,” “medical dramas,” and “detective shows.”
It’s often said that if you have an “adventurer” theme, the viewership will follow.
…Personally, though, I wish they’d refrain from casting actual adventurers as leads, for the sake of acting ability.
I got my adventurer qualifications right after turning 15, but I’ve only ever ventured into a dungeon once.
That too was just for a status gain, with the intention of retreating immediately.
However, as I continue being a paper adventurer, I often find myself questioning if this is really all right.
And the more I ask myself, the more I reach a singular truth.
—I don’t want to work as an adventurer!
Huh? Why do I have to risk my life chasing after dreams and hopes?
Romance?
Can I really eat by living in a fictional world!?
I also recognize that I’m not very sociable, so I absolutely don’t want to do jobs that involve dealing with people or relationships—like part-time work.
…Well, there’s nothing I can do about it.
I need to come up with a way to make money without working.
“Everyone wants the chance to venture into dungeons. But many potential adventurers give up due to their lack of ability. So, if you have the power to train someone, also known as training-type abilities, there’s a huge demand for you!”
I was watching a TV info program to pass the time on my day off, and I heard something that caught my attention.
“Oh, that’s right… I did get a job.”
I hadn’t planned on diving into a dungeon myself.
Also, I only got the qualification as a form of ID, so I hadn’t thought much about it until now.
Besides, the job isn’t the kind of protagonist role that student adventurers usually seek.
But now, an idea to use my job for making money is quickly coming together in my head.
—Right, I’ll have someone else do the work for me.
The job I acquired when I gained my status was “Heroine Tamer.”
In this highly digitalized society, I’d never heard of it before, so it’s likely a rare or unique job.
And, just as it was mentioned on TV the other day, it falls into the category of “training-type,” which is highly sought after.
Adventurers live in a meritocratic world.
Training-type abilities, which help to make someone stronger, are always in high demand.
So, I posted a recruitment ad for training requests on a dedicated app’s bulletin board.
I mostly followed the example text, but given the nature of my job, I kept the details a bit vague.
“—Oh, got a response already.”
I received an email on my phone, which I hadn’t gotten in a while. A smile almost slipped out due to this good omen.
‘[Adventurer Support App – DanSapo] Message 1: A training contract application from Adventurer Saionji Hikari.’
But as soon as I saw the name, the excitement immediately faded.
“Saionji? No way…”
I opened the applicant’s profile, just in case it was a case of same-name coincidence.
Age, gender, location, adventurer achievements…
“Ah, I see—”
—Yeah, it’s my classmate.
The nearest guild branch.
I reserved a free meeting room that adventurers can use, and heard a light knock.
When I gave the signal to enter, a familiar face peeked through the door.
“Oh, Amezaki-kun…”
She looked both surprised and relieved when she saw me.
The girl, whose soft hair reached down to her waist, stepped in, no longer wearing her usual school uniform.
She wore a shirt with exposed shoulders and a short skirt, gloves reaching above her joints, and knee-high boots.
Her armor covered only the essential areas, making it clear that it was light gear.
And the sword at her side was a single-handed one, clearly signaling she was an “adventurer.”
“Yo.”
I greeted her casually after she sat across from me.
Saionji nodded cutely, returning my greeting.
“So, we’re here for a meeting, right?”
We weren’t exactly close, but since we were familiar with each other, I went straight to the point without any probing.
“Y-yeah. Oh, here’s my status sheet.”
With an unusual nervousness, Saionji handed me a piece of paper, almost as if she had just remembered.

The status sheet is a record of one’s stats transferred onto a special paper, making it readable.
For a small fee of 420 yen, you can get one made at an adventurer guild.
It’s often brought in for interviews with clans or dungeon-related companies.
This is my first time seeing someone else’s, and honestly, it’s quite something.
“Well…” I looked back at Saionji’s gear.
Her adventurer-like armor was spotless and clearly unused, almost as if it were brand new.
…She probably bought it, but with stats like this, there hasn’t been any opportunity to use it.
“Ugh, I’m sorry my stats are so low and weak…”
Her weak voice, as if she couldn’t bear the silence anymore, made her face flush with embarrassment.
I could see her shrinking into herself, clearly uncomfortable.
…It’s true, these stats aren’t exactly high or impressive.
They say “the heavens don’t give two gifts,” but with someone like Saionji, who’s the “most beautiful girl in school,” having low stats like these only seems fair.
“—No, it’s because you’re weak that there’s potential for growth. Let’s move on to discussing the contract.”
“Wait, Tamer?”
Saionji looked confused after hearing what I said.
Since she wasn’t following, I explained again.
“Yeah. Have you heard of Monster Tamer or Beast Tamer? It’s the ‘human version’ of that. I can train the ones I tame.”
“Ah, I see.”
She nodded, but her expression was still soft and dreamy.
…I’m not sure she fully understood, though.
She usually comes off as a responsible student in class, but she can sometimes be a bit absent-minded.
Well, that’s the kind of thing guys easily misinterpret as something endearing.
“…Is the reward, the one I saw in the ad, really okay? You get 20% of the dungeon rewards, and I get 80%?”
Realizing she couldn’t wrap her head around all the details, Saionji moved the conversation to the reward.
That’s fine by me though…
“Yeah, that’s fine.”
Saionji alone wouldn’t make much from it, but if this becomes a model case, more adventurers will start taming, and the numbers will grow.
With that, the rewards will add up over time.
After most of the explanation, I decided to give her time to think.
She seemed to be carefully considering everything, taking in the ad and my explanation.
I waited patiently, sipping on some warm sweet red bean soup from the vending machine in the guild’s waiting room.
“—Okay, Amezaki-kun. I’m ready for the contract and the taming. Please.”
It seemed like Saionji had made up her mind.
When I sat back down, she politely stood and bowed.
“I see. I’ll leave it to you.”
When she raised her head, she naturally reached out her hand.
I reflexively bent down and shook it.
…Whoa, I just shook a girl’s hand.
It felt small and soft!
Even through her gloves, I could tell her hand was soft and feminine.
“—Alright, let’s start taming. You good?”
“Y-yeah, I’m good! Bring it on, Amezaki-kun!!”
Her voice wasn’t quite convincing, but she was blushing, stretching her arms wide, and closing her eyes tightly.
She looked like she was preparing for a hug or something.
…No, I’m not going to hug you though.
I’d never seen her so nervous before, even at school.
She must’ve really thought carefully about being “tamed” before making her decision.
“Alright, here we go—[Tame]!!”
Since I didn’t want to prolong this uncertain and unstable moment, I decided to finish the taming quickly.
My body instinctively knew how to activate the skill.
As if it had always been part of me from birth.
Several magic circles appeared around Saionji, forming in the empty space.
The supernatural powers, now commonplace, unleashed magic chains that shot toward Saionji’s body.
“—Ah!”
Before she could react, the chains wrapped around her entire body.
It was a somewhat erotic scene, seeing the pure and innocent girl bound in magic chains.
But it didn’t last long.
“Ah—”
The magic chains pulsed like a beating heart, contracting and expanding before melting into her body.
…Looks like it worked.
And to signal the success of the taming, a translucent screen appeared next to Saionji’s face.
