Sweating, the King hesitated.
“The recently confiscated estate would suffice as a reward.”
“Yes, granting Toma-sama the title and lands of that estate seems appropriate.”
Cornered, the King relented.
“Fine… but only an Earl. Even if he saves my life, making him a Marquis is too much.”
“Your Majesty, Toma-sama has saved hundreds of thousands from the poison of the sake king. Will you ignore such an achievement?”
“Very well. Toma shall be made a Marquis and granted the Bald Territory. Is that acceptable!?”
