“Level 100…! I’ve reached the 80th floor of the dungeon, and things are going smoothly.”
It had been about three months since I acquired a barrel bath and bedding, making life much more comfortable.
Though there had been a slowdown in leveling up, from the 70th floor onward, the magical beasts and monsters grew much stronger, and my level began to rise steadily.
Utilizing the safety area and the blessed tent with a barrier from the Creator God, I gradually made my way through the dungeon without pushing myself too hard. Before I knew it, my level had surpassed 100.
“Ketsue, you’ve worked hard too. You’re level 100 now, huh? You’re growing so fast.”
“Nyoon.”
I picked up the tabby cat, who purred contentedly, and rubbed my cheek against its soft fur.
I wasn’t sure how strong Ketsue, the level 100 Cat Sidhe (a type of cat fairy), was, but with its mastery over spirit magic, Ketsue had grown strong enough to defeat the brutal Blood Bulls that roamed the 70th floor on its own.
Ketsue’s specialty was wind magic, and the power of its wind cutters, unleashed from its cute little cat paws, was incredible, easily slicing through even the most vicious monsters.
“Since we got some Blood Bull meat, tonight we’re having steak.”
“Goan!” (Meow)
“Alright, alright. It’s a bit early, but let’s pack up and head out for now.”
I had just defeated the floor boss on the 80th level, and after collecting the dropped items, I threw them into my [Item Box].
The deeper I went into the dungeon, the stronger the floor bosses became, but the treasures they dropped were also worth more.
The treasure chest, big enough to carry with both hands, was filled with rare items, but I decided to check them when I got home.
“Alright, let’s head outside. Stay close, okay?”
Holding Ketsue, I touched the teleportation door and exited the dungeon.
Lately, I had been using the area near the dungeon entrance as my base and not camping in the dungeon’s safety area anymore. My motto was to level up and earn points without forcing myself, progressing through the dungeon at my own pace.
Leveling up had stalled for a bit, and when I got lazy, the Creator God, Kesaran Pasaran, helped motivate me by telling me that once I reached level 100, my summoning magic would reach skill level 5.
With skill level 5, I could finally buy a “house”—my long-awaited goal. Having a clear objective reignited my motivation.
I wasn’t someone who hated putting in effort. Until then, I had decided to enjoy my tent life and would continue going to the dungeon every day except on my weekly break.
The tent had become a familiar base of operations. The orchard and garden within the barrier were growing well, and I no longer had to buy vegetables and fruits from convenience stores.
The vegetables I planted in the garden sprouted in just 10 days and turned out delicious as expected. The fruit trees Ketsue replanted were thriving, and sweet fruits were starting to form.
Thanks to the barrier, magical beasts and insects were kept away, so the crops were harvested without being ravaged.
The plants were growing well due to the ample magic I provided, and Ketsue’s fairy magic for plants had helped a lot too. Instead of insects, Ketsue’s fairy friends helped with pollination, and I rewarded them generously.
Ketsue had started to show interest in the ice cream and snacks we were eating lately, so I occasionally shared some with them.
“Let’s clean up before going into the tent.”
“Nyah.”
I used Cleanse magic to wash off the sweat, feeling refreshed before entering the tent.
“I’m home. Tired, huh?”
Ketsue jumped out of my arms and curled up on its favorite sofa. The soft cushions and cozy blanket had become its new favorites. After a bit of kneading and circling around, it settled down.
I sat down on the sofa while sipping from a bottle of sparkling water I had taken out of my [Item Box].
“Now, let’s check the benefits of reaching level 100.”
I displayed my stats and tapped the screen. Opening the summoning magic online shop page, I scrolled through the list of available shops.
Just this morning, the shop names were grayed out, but now, I could tap them and use them.
The shop name was “Otherworld Real Estate.” Pretty bad.
“It’s so nostalgic… Summoning magic unlocked a 100-yen shop at level 1, a 300-yen shop at level 2. I was so happy when the convenience store opened at level 3.”
The convenience store had mostly delicious items, and even though it didn’t stock many items, I was particularly thrilled that I could buy alcoholic beverages.
It was surprising that I could purchase seasonal items like Christmas cakes, New Year’s osechi, and even foods for the Dog Days festival.
“Level 4 unlocking a large furniture store was also great. The bed is the best, and the down comforter is divine.”
Finally, at summoning magic level 5, the Otherworld Real Estate shop became available. I eagerly examined the items for sale.
Items for Sale:
- Storage Warehouse… 50,000pts
- Concrete Barn… 700,000pts
- Tiny House… 1,500,000pts
- Container House… 4,000,000pts
- Two-story Cottage… 30,000,000pts
“Of course, the warehouse and barn are out of the question. The Tiny House is tempting, but it only has a shower room. I’ll pass on that. I want a bathtub.”
I was interested in the Container House and the Cottage, but the two-story cottage, though equipped, was far too large for just one person and one cat.
“I think I’ll go with the Container House. It has a bathroom, kitchen, and a fireplace. It’s 9 tsubo (about 18 tatami mats). It’s a bit small, but for 4 million points, it’s worth it.”
I tapped to check the details.
A 9-tsubo building is about 18 tatami mats. The bathroom and kitchen would take up about 3 mats, and the toilet and fireplace would take up 2 mats. The space for the bath and washroom would be about 4 mats.
“It’s a bit small… Will the queen-sized bed fit?”
I glanced at my remaining points—just under 10 million. The Container House was within reach, but the Cottage was far out of my budget.
As I skimmed through the details of the Container House, I noticed something that caught my eye.
“Options available…? What does that mean? Wait, you can stack multiple units for expansion!”
While I could make it a single-floor house by placing them side by side, I looked down at Ketsue, peacefully napping beside me, and made a quick decision.
Cats need vertical space. Akimi had taught me that.
Though large cat trees weren’t available at the furniture store, we had been using box-like shelves as substitutes until now.
“If I buy two Container Houses and connect them, Ketsue can get some exercise, and I’ll have a spacious bedroom. Sounds perfect!”
Excited, I added two Container Houses to my shopping cart. It was a big purchase—8 million points—but I didn’t regret it. Just as I was about to confirm the purchase, my phone rang.
“Huh? A message from the Creator God, Kesaran Pasaran?”
I wondered why it came at that moment and decided to check it first.
Opening the hero message and tapping it, I saw:
“For a limited time, if you add 1 million points, we’ll add a barrier option to your purchased building, covering a 20-meter radius! It’s a great deal!”
If I added the barrier option, my point balance would take a huge hit, but I made my decision instantly:
“Of course, I’ll add it!”
Thus, I bought two Container Houses, connected them into a two-story building (stairs included), with the barrier option added, for a total of 9 million points. I, at 21 years old, became a homeowner.
