Thank you, Dungeon Master.
I’ve decided not to think too deeply anymore.
Mining Area Creation: Magic Consumption 20
A facility that seems to invite the dwarves has been unlocked.
By placing these appropriately, it looks like I could make it appear like an abandoned mining area.
“Magic stones and jewels. I’m not sure about the details, but there are also ores used in blacksmithing, I think.”
“If there are so many different types, the dwarves will probably be interested.”
“Man, you’re really doing something crazy again. Maybe we should just start mining ourselves, huh?”
Because his body is made of mercury, Rigma even gave his approval.
But is that really okay? If I say something like that…
“Well, that means Rigma’s job is going to increase, huh?”
“Huh!? What are you saying, Pilkaya! I really can’t handle any more work!!”
“But, Rigma’s the one who knows the most about ores, right?”
“…Rey. Can we pretend I never said that?”
“I’m fine with it, but it depends on Lady Fiona.”
Upon hearing that, Rigma nervously looked over at Lady Fiona.
“Magic stones… magic power recovery… treasure chests…”
Ah, I think this is bad. Rigma, you should give up.
At this point, only Primilla could stop Lady Fiona.
“Rey. Let’s also set up traps to capture the dwarves!”
“Okay. Let’s have them work without other dwarves noticing.”
“Old man, you’re working now, right?”
It’s fine. It’s just the initial training.
The dwarves should be more skilled in mining and have more knowledge, so I should only need to manage them.
“Don’t worry, Rigma. Despite my appearance, I’m confident in heavy labor. I’ll help out too.”
“Nooo, please don’t add any more work for me. Seriously, you might end up destroying the whole mining area.”
“…But wouldn’t that result in more stones being collected?”
“You’ve stopped even pretending, huh. I can’t just use it up like that! …Well, wait, Rey might actually be able to do that?”
“Don’t waste it like that, let’s just use it normally.”
Sure, it’s possible if we have enough magic, but this is probably the kind of stone that changes depending on the time and magic used.
If we keep rebuilding it each time, we’ll probably only get low-quality stones, so I’ll let Ripianem give up.
“Well, let’s just spread out some mining areas…”
“Ugh, my workplace is just expanding…”
Trap Cage: Magic Consumption 5
“According to Lady Fiona’s request, we’ll set up some traps for capturing.”
“With magic stones, we can grow treasure chests more efficiently.”
Lady Fiona pats my head with a big smile, but I think her plan is going to fail.
After all, even the magic power recovery potion made by Primilla didn’t restore Lady Fiona’s magic power.
If that’s the case, it’s unlikely the magic stones will fully restore her power.
Six Rocks: Magic Consumption 15
I set up a trap with six rolling rocks.
Dwarves are probably tough, so one rock wouldn’t even slow them down.
This one has better fuel efficiency, so I’ll set this up instead of just regular rolling rocks.
“Alright. Even tough dwarves should be stopped if they’re up against rocks they can’t move.”
“Who? Who told Rey about the dwarves’ toughness?”
“No one told me, I just thought that way on my own.”
“Rather than stopping them, won’t they just die?”
“Rey-sama does not hold back, and goes all out when taking care of the enemy. As expected.”
“Primilla . Aren’t you being a bit too lenient with Rey?”
It looks like Lady Fiona and the Four Heavenly Kings decided that this approach would work against the dwarves.
Other demons might be exaggerating a bit, but Primilla seems to be giving a favorable opinion, so I think it should be fine.
Everyone’s now talking from a bit of a distance. Maybe they’re being considerate, trying not to get in my way.
Circular Saw: Magic Consumption 10
It would be dull if only rocks fall from the ceiling.
Rather than just crushing, it might be safer to mix in some cutting-type traps as well.
If this were a game, physical or slashing damage might have different strengths depending on the attribute.
“If it’s only from the ceiling, the balance would be off, so let’s also set up something on the floor.”
Bear Trap: Magic Consumption 5
It’s a classic, but if someone steps on it, their foot gets caught in sharp metal traps, reducing their mobility.
This is more of a trap to wear down the opponent than one to defeat them.
“Since Lady Fiona wants it, using something like this to capture the dwarves might work.”
“What are we going to do, Demon King? It seems like we’ll end up with a lot of injured dwarves to offer.”
“Ugh… I didn’t want to go that far, but I can’t bring myself to stop Rey, who’s working hard for me.”
“We should probably tell Tokito not to sell out all the healing potions.”
Raising Floor: Magic Consumption 20
Hmm…? This is a new trap I don’t recognize. It must have been unlocked recently.
The magic consumption is the same as the hanging ceiling… but it’s hard to imagine the effect just from the name.
Could it be a moving platform, like an elevator? But it’s listed as a trap…
“Let’s try making it and see.”
Thanks to the healing potions made from Primilla ‘s field, I’m able to enjoy some luxuries. Being able to casually test the effects like this is really helpful, as it gives me more options when necessary.
“Pilkaya, share your vision with me.”
“Okay.”
I called Pilkaya, who had been talking with Lady Fiona and the other Four Heavenly Kings at a distance.
We shared vision and confirmed that the trap was indeed set, then decided to activate it manually this time.
“Oh… So that’s how it works.”
The entire floor rises up.
It doesn’t stop rising, reaching all the way up to the ceiling.
In other words, it’s a trap that crushes from both the floor and ceiling.
It’s like the floor version of the hanging ceiling trap. No wonder the magic consumption is the same.
After that, I continued setting up traps one after another.
Being able to proceed without needing to sleep for recovery is incredibly helpful.
Thanks to that, I was able to complete it faster than the Beastmen’s dungeon.
“Looks like this is it.”
However, there’s still something that’s bothering me.
I really wanted to set up monsters…
But it’s important to stick to the original concept, so I’ll hold off for now.
“Will the dwarves come? Nah, even if they do, I think they’ll give up quickly.”
“Your killing intent is so high it’s surprising, old man.”
“So this is how Rey fights. He never holds back and takes down the enemy with everything he has. As expected of the Demon King’s right-hand man.”
“…Maybe I should reduce the number of traps a bit?”
I’m starting to feel like I’ve focused too much on the killing aspect.
Seeing the reactions of the Four Heavenly Kings, it seems like that’s not just my imagination.
“How about we proceed as it is for now? If we want to make it seem like an abandoned dungeon, it’d be more natural to reduce the traps than to increase them midway.”
“That’s true. If they decrease, the traps that were still active would seem like they’ve stopped, but if they suddenly increase, it’d definitely seem suspicious.”
As expected of Primilla .
It’s clear she’s the one who always speaks her mind to Lady Fiona.
…Though recently, it’s less about advice and more about lectures.
“Still, you know? The dwarves aren’t as dumb as the Beastmen. I think they’ll start valuing their lives.”
“Yeah, I agree. We should make the bait a little more lavish.”
“Bait? You mean… treasure chests?”
“Oh, treasure chests, huh?”
That’s a bit of an overreaction. I wonder if Lady Fiona was a mimic in her past life.
“No, it’s stone and alcohol.”
“Ah…”
Right, that makes sense. Dwarves are known for that.
For the stone, we’ll just have to rely on the quality of the ores that spawn in the mining area, but alcohol…
“With the dungeon-making skills, there’s nothing we can do about that.”
“That’s where Primilla ’s field comes in… or rather, the orchard that’s practically become one.”
“I see, so you’re saying I should grow the fruit that produces alcohol and make demon-kind’s brand of liquor.”
“Exactly. You’re good at that, right? And it’d be even better if you could share a little with the old man.”
Primilla is amazing…
Just like when she made the magic recovery potions from magic fruit, now she can make alcohol from some kind of fruit.
Regardless of Rigma’s intentions, depending on the quality of the alcohol, it might be one of the baits to lure in the dwarves.
Since demons can’t interact with other races… the alcohol made by demons will likely have an unknown taste to them.
