I decided to resume my dungeon exploration and, once again, check the status of my tamed cat fairy, Cait Sith, Ketsue.
Tamed beings can have their status details assessed through the [Appraisal] skill.
“Good kitty. Stay still, okay?”
I placed the small kitten on my lap and activated the skill.
Ketsue, who was still craving more play, tried to run away, but I caught her and tickled her. She purred adorably and became calm.
Seizing the opportunity, I used [Appraisal].

By the way, her high MP seems to be the result of the healing magic I frequently cast on her.
Apparently, she grew up absorbing a lot of the High Elf’s superb mana… as the Creator God secretly sent me this message.
Well, I guess that’s fine. A magical cat. Cute too.
Having [Domestic Magic] is quite useful.
After researching it in a magic book, I learned that in this world, Cait Sith are “house fairies.”
They take residence in a house they like, and in exchange for milk, snacks, and a warm bed, they help with household chores.
What piques my interest are [Spirit Magic] and the unique gift, [Plant Magic].
[Spirit Magic] allows the use of the four elemental magics by borrowing the power of spirits.
“So, for offense and defense, she uses [Spirit Magic]. As for her unique gift, it seems like magic to grow plants? Huh, that’s kind of interesting.”
I had planned to create a small garden in the yard when I buy a house through summoning magic online, so this ability is quite fitting.
I gently stroked the kitten who was dozing off on my lap.
I couldn’t help but adore the defenseless, belly-up tabby.
“If I don’t level her up to strengthen her stats, these numbers are pretty unreliable… I’ll probably have to have her deal the finishing blow to weakened prey I hurt to help her level up.”
I’m worried whether this small and adorable creature can defeat magical beasts, but if she remains weak, she risks being eaten like her mother and siblings.
“I can’t always be by her side to protect her.”
I had inadvertently tamed her, but I wanted to prioritize her wishes and planned to raise her to a certain point before letting her go.
“It might be dangerous to be near me… To be honest, I’d love to keep you forever, though.”
I don’t plan to stay in this dungeon or the great forest forever.
Since I’ve reincarnated into another world, I want to visit the peaceful world my cousins defeated the Evil Dragon in and see it for myself.
I plan to disguise myself just in case, but it seems I’m a rare species, a High Elf. In some countries with a human-supremacist ideology, I could be despised as a demi-human and reduced to slavery.
(If my cousin heroes return to the original world, maybe I can live a little more safely, even as prey. … No, though, there’s also the chance that the gift I received from the Creator God will be targeted, so I should really try to live in a way that doesn’t draw attention.)
If troublesome people take notice of me, it seems unlikely I could enjoy a peaceful, slow life.
As for traveling in this other world, it’s a dangerous place where magical beasts and bandits roam freely. It’s better to be prepared with some skill.
If I need to hide or escape, it’s obvious that I should level up my stats first.
Starting tomorrow, I’m going to give you some tough training.
“Alright, go! Ketsue!”
I had already wiped out the goblin horde with magic, leaving just one behind.
I’d weakened it considerably, so its HP was down to single digits.
Since I didn’t want Ketsue to get hurt in close combat, I had been attacking from a distance using magic.
“Meow!”
Ketsue, who was approaching the near-death goblin, delivered a tiny cat punch with its small forepaws. It was unbelievably cute. Unbelievably cute, but the attack power was incredibly low.
Fortunately, it seemed like the nearly-dead goblin was weakened enough by the cat punch that its HP dropped by 1 with each blow.
After about 9 adorable little cat punches, the goblin finally glowed faintly and turned into a dropped item.
“Meow?”
Ketsue tilted its head in confusion.
It seems the attack caused Ketsue to level up. When I checked its stats, I noticed its strength and speed had slightly increased.
I was also relieved that its HP had improved a bit, which had been a major concern.
“Alright, let’s keep this up and defeat more!”
I felt like a kindergarten teacher.
Ketsue, being a kitten, was a bit capricious, and no matter how much I commanded, if it got bored, it wouldn’t move unless forced.
So, I continued the dungeon boot camp, making sure to keep Ketsue entertained.
When Ketsue grew tired of the cat punch routine, I came up with a new strategy—teaching it magic to spark its interest.
As a cat fairy, Ketsue found it a bit difficult to use Life Magic, but Elemental Magic seemed easier for it. With a little help from the spirits, Ketsue started using earth, water, fire, and wind magic to defeat magical beasts and monsters.
“Good job! Now, move the water ball and cover the goblin’s head with it.”
Since Ketsue’s small body would be in danger if it ran low on mana, I kept an eye on the stats and taught it energy-efficient magic.
For water magic, Ketsue created a water ball to suffocate enemies. Fire magic wasn’t an option yet due to its high energy consumption, so I skipped it. For earth magic, Ketsue controlled the earth to skewer prey.
“Not bad. You’re already level 6?”
Even though Ketsue hadn’t defeated many enemies, its level was increasing fast. Maybe it gets experience points more easily due to its species traits.
“Alright. Let’s wrap up today’s training here. Now, we need to find our campsite for the night.”
It wasn’t quite sunset yet, but finding a good base camp took time.
Ideally, I wanted a place with a nice view, plenty of greenery, and a clean water source nearby. It was a bit of a luxury search, but Ketsue was of great help here.
Ketsue meowed cheerfully into the air, and it seemed the spirits nearby showed us a good location.
After clearing out a few magical beasts and making a path, the spirits led us—well, Ketsue actually—to the perfect spot.
“Spirits really love cats. Got it.”
Gratefully, I followed Ketsue, who was happily trotting ahead.
“Good job, spirits. You know what’s up!”
“Meow!”
We exchanged cheerful banter.
Ketsue responded happily, its tail standing straight up.
The special spot the spirits led us to was a safe area with a clearing, and in front of us, there was a small waterfall. It was a perfect campsite, bathed in refreshing negative ions, and I eagerly began preparing dinner.
“Tonight, I’ll make hamburgers with orc meat… Huh? Do you want some too?”
Normally, I wouldn’t give regular kitten food to Ketsue, but as a fairy, Ketsue could eat human food as a delicacy. The Creator God had assured me that it wouldn’t harm it, though I still felt a little reluctant to just give it directly.
So, I made a small, special hamburger steak, without onions, sized just right for a kitten.
When I offered ketchup and mayonnaise, Ketsue chose the mayonnaise.
A mayonnaise-loving fairy, huh?
I added the mayonnaise to the hamburger as requested and served it gently. Ketsue joyfully began eating.
Using its small teeth, it skillfully chewed through the meat. Even though Ketsue was a fairy, it had the strong carnivorous instincts of a cat.
“…Mmm. The orc meat hamburger steak is delicious. The juice is amazing.”
Meals are always better when shared with a companion. I naturally smiled, thinking about what I would make tomorrow.
