The dungeon extends across separate spaces for each floor, generally progressing deeper into lower levels.
To advance, you must locate either a staircase or a teleportation door hidden somewhere on the floor.
The upper floors are guarded by weak magical beasts and monsters with low magical energy, but as you descend, the creatures grow stronger.
“Once you go deeper than the fifth floor, floor bosses start appearing. Defeating them offers a high chance of rare item drops. Hidden rooms in dungeons sometimes contain treasure chests with valuable magical tools… I see.”
I quickly skimmed through the dungeon information using the magical tome I received from the Creator God. My main objectives will be defeating floor bosses and discovering hidden rooms. I hope to obtain either a sturdy, practical weapon or a useful magical tool.
“Well, since I have the time during the rainy season, going on an adventure doesn’t sound like a bad idea.”
I returned the magical tome to my Item Box, gripped my machete, and started walking. For now, I decided to head to the right from the entrance of my base.
Outside, heavy rain poured, but the inside of the cave was calm. It was cool and slightly humid—comfortable compared to a sweltering forest, especially for someone used to air conditioning.
“When the rainy season ends, summer will be here. Maybe the dungeon is more comfortable than outside…”
Given that I had no idea how long it would take to save enough money through summoned magic online shopping to buy a house, having a cozy base was quite appealing. That said, I wasn’t sure how safe the dungeon’s so-called “safe zones” were. While I was currently using the cave as my base, I still dreamed of finding a more scenic location.
A small cottage by a lakeside. I’d fish leisurely on a sapphire-blue lake, surrounded by vibrant greenery. Beside the cottage would be a tiny farm and orchard, with two sleek, large dogs napping in the shade.
Returning home with a rainbow trout, I’d be greeted by a beautiful blonde elf woman smiling warmly, saying, “Welcome back, dear.”
“…Wait, snap out of it! Too much daydreaming.”
Suddenly, a goblin had closed in and was striking at my barrier with a club. I’d been too lost in thought. Chastising myself, I decapitated it with the machete. The goblin’s dark blood sprayed but disappeared along with its body. Conveniently, all traces of blood and guts vanished as well, keeping my weapon clean.
I picked up the magic stone it left behind and refocused.
“I’ve been too lonely, letting my imagination run wild. Gotta stay alert—this is a dungeon.”
Fortunately, the current floor had only one path, so mapping was easy. So far, I’d only encountered goblins and the occasional slime dropping from the ceiling, requiring caution. Drops were limited to magic stones and low-grade potions, confirming it was a very shallow floor.
After about 20 minutes, I reached a dead end with a large stone door. Tentatively, I touched it, and it slid open like an automatic door.
“Whoa! Powered by magic? That surprised me… Wait, hold on.”
Beyond the door was a familiar forest.
“I’ve been heading toward the dungeon’s entrance this whole time, haven’t I?”
Inspecting the door and surrounding area, I confirmed that I had indeed gone the wrong way and returned to the dungeon’s entrance. The area I’d been exploring was the first floor, as expected.
“Well, I did want to start from the first floor, so maybe this worked out for the best.”
At the dungeon entrance, I infused magic into the teleportation door. This would allow me to skip cleared floors and return directly to the deeper ones later.
Outside, the forest remained under a heavy rain warning. The dungeon entrance was buried among trees, making it nearly impossible to find. Stumbling upon it during a cave-digging session was sheer luck.
“Alright, let’s challenge the dungeon again.”
Turning my back on the rainy forest, I stepped into the dungeon once more. Suddenly, the voice of the Creator God—reminiscent of a Kesaran Pasaran—echoed in my mind:
“As a reward for challenging the Mountain of Demons Dungeon, you are granted the skill [Auto-Mapping].”
“Seriously? It’s like a game,” I muttered, checking my status. Sure enough, a new skill had appeared. Tapping on it revealed that it automatically created a map of explored areas within the dungeon.
“Huh… Convenient. Saves me the trouble of drawing maps.”
Activating the skill, a translucent screen resembling a status board appeared, displaying the first-floor map.
“Yep, it’s just one path. Guess I’ll keep moving.”
A glowing blue dot on the map represented me, while unexplored areas were left blank. To fully complete the map, I’d need to walk through every corner of the floor—a tedious task. Instead, I decided to aim directly for the stairs or door to the next floor.
“Hmm, four flashing red dots up ahead. Enemies?”
Using my Sense Presence skill, I confirmed that the dots represented goblins. Before they could attack, I incinerated them with Fireball.
“Alright. No fire hazard here in the dungeon, and the loot doesn’t burn. Time to level up my fire magic.”
Fire magic, known for its destructive power, had been underused due to fears of forest fires. But in the dungeon, I could go all out.
“Fire Arrow, Fire Wall… Let’s start with the basics.”
As a high elf, my vast magical reserves allowed me to cast over a hundred beginner spells without depleting even 10% of my mana. Thanks to Sense Presence and Auto-Mapping, I could safely eliminate enemies from a distance.
“Looks like I don’t need the machete or the bow anymore.”
Clearing the first floor of slimes and goblins, I returned to the base in half the time it had taken initially.
“Maybe I should bring all my gear.”
A safe base was essential for dungeon exploration. Finding a safety area with protective barriers where I could rest in a tent would improve efficiency. Packing up my makeshift base, I stored everything in my Item Box. After fueling up with summoned convenience store pasta and a beef-and-burdock rice ball, I set out again.
Though cool and comfortable, the cave environment felt monotonous. I longed for an area with more visual appeal to camp in.
“That grassland area was great—no cover, which was unsettling, but the starry sky made it worth it.”
Lost in such thoughts, I happily reduced goblins and slimes to ash with fire magic.
