After building the brewery, I discovered a dungeon.
There have been quite a few orders from the Horse King, especially from the Duke of Bayerlein’s family, who purchased a large quantity and even agreed to buy regularly.
Thanks to this, my father has been busy every day. I made a request to him.
“What, you want to enter a dungeon?”
Since that day, all the old mine shafts have been closed except for the one that became a warehouse for alcohol. They checked if the other old mines had turned into dungeons, and the ones I didn’t find were confirmed to be fine.
However, since it’s uncertain when the mines might turn into dungeons, the closure continues. The local lord’s military regularly checks them.
Amidst this, the dungeon was opened to the public. If left unchecked, the dungeon produces and releases a large number of monsters. Therefore, they decided to let people enter and thin out the monsters.
People who explore dungeons are generally called adventurers, and several groups have already come. Merchants have also arrived to handle the materials from the monsters adventurers hunt. Right now, they’re living in makeshift huts or tents, but soon they’ll likely establish proper stores and inns.
“But, Toma is still only seven…”
“I won’t push myself too hard. I’ll take plenty of precautions and explore safely. So, please, let me go.”
“…Alright. Toma is a Roxfall boy, carrying the fate of his family, who must face monsters. Battles with monsters are inevitable. But really, don’t go too deep.”
“Thank you so much!”
Whether it’s fate or not, I can’t avoid fighting monsters, as it’s essential for leveling up.
“Armor, check! Headgear, check! Sword, check! Dagger, check! Bow, check! Thirty arrows, check! Food, check! Water, check!”
I checked my equipment and supplies to enter the dungeon. My armor consists of a chestplate, gauntlets, and shin guards. Since I’m still small, there’s no metal armor. My sword is short, about 40 cm in blade length. It was forged by Mr. Bowman, the blacksmith and Ben’s father.
I’ve just managed to get my bow to a point where I can hit a target. Since some monsters might be better fought from a distance, I decided to bring it along.
The dungeon I’m about to enter is the first in the Ashwood Territory and has been named the “Ashwood Dungeon.” I can’t say this to my father, but compared to the Horse King’s dungeon, it doesn’t have the same impact.
“Well then, I’m off!”
“Are you really going? You can still stop now if you want.”
I don’t want to worry my mother, but to fulfill my promise with “The One Who Was Forgotten,” I must level up.
“I’m sorry for worrying you. But I’m going. I promise I’ll return safely. So please, let me go.”
“Aliusha, see Toma off with a smile. Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. He’s our son, after all.”
“…Alright. Toma , you must return safely.”
“Yes! Well then, I’m off!”
As I was walking out of the mansion, I saw Ben standing in front of the brewery.
“You’re late, Toma .”
“Yes, yes.”
After hearing that I was going into the dungeon, Ben decided he would go too.
Ben was equipped with a morning star with spikes on the end, a small wooden shield reinforced with iron, armor resembling a kendo chest protector, leather gloves, shin guards, metal-reinforced shoes, and a pot-like helmet.
“Wait, is that a pot!?”
I couldn’t help but point it out.
“My old man insisted I wear this.”
“Well, it’s better than nothing.”
Despite the serious dungeon exploration, maybe it’s good to have a bit of comedy mixed in.
