I made a large batch of hamburger patties and meatballs by grinding up a lot of beautiful, lean venison meat. I only shaped the hamburger patties, and deep-fried the meatballs.
“I’m glad the 100 yen shop sells ‘hamburger mix’…”
It’s not that I couldn’t make it from scratch, but preparing a large amount of hamburger patty mix is a hassle.
The magic powder in this mix makes it easy; just mix it with the ground meat, and I don’t need to prepare onions or binders.
The seasoning is already included, so all I need to do is shape and cook it. It’s wonderful.
There wasn’t a meatball mix, so I just added some simple seasoning—salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder. Since I’m making it for storage, that’s enough.
I tasted one deep-fried meatball, and the meat flavor was rich and satisfying. It seems like it could be used in a variety of recipes.
The journey to the Demon Mountain is going smoothly.
Along the way, I’ve encountered larger and stronger magical beasts, and humanoid monsters like goblins and orcs are appearing more frequently.
Of course, I’ve been defeating them to rack up points. As the magical beasts and monsters get stronger, I also grow stronger.
(Thanks to the blessing of the God of Creation that doubles my experience points, leveling up is easier.)
There was a moment when I was surrounded by a group of goblins, but thanks to the blessing, I was able to deflect all their attacks and escape without a scratch.
I think this might be cheating, in a way.
They can’t touch me at all, while I can unleash magic with no damage to myself.
“I regret charging into the goblin settlement just because the invincible barrier was fun…”
I got too excited and chased after the fleeing goblins, exterminating the entire settlement.
I think there were over fifty of them. I didn’t just use magic, but also swung my hand axe to wipe them out.
Apparently, if you leave goblins alone, they’ll quickly breed and ravage the forest’s resources.
Once they run out of food, they start attacking human settlements, so people in this country are raised to eliminate goblins whenever they find them.
“Well, it’s a volunteer job, right?”
Goblins only give magic stones.
Their meat is too foul to eat, and their green skin has no use. Even the magic stones aren’t of very high quality, so the points I got were few.
But it seems easier to gain experience points from them.
Larger magical beasts have started appearing.
The forest deer and wild boars were already quite big, but now huge magical beasts like wild deer and wild boars have appeared.
The first time I saw a wild deer as big as a moose, I was shocked by its size.
Its large antlers seemed to blend with tree branches, and when it masked its presence, it became nearly invisible for a moment.
It looked like the lord of the forest.
Wild boars are also a lot bigger than forest boars. They’re hot-tempered, charging straight ahead like boars, and their sharp tusks and tough hide are troublesome, but their movements are predictable, so they’re easy to defeat.
Both can have their heads taken off with my Wind Cutter, so they’re not a threat.
“Points really go up quickly…”
A wild deer gives 20,000 points for its antlers, hide, meat, and magic stone, while a wild boar gives 23,000 points for its tusks, hide, meat, and magic stone.
I made sure to secure the meat since I want to taste it. I quickly converted the other materials into points.
High-point magical beast meat is definitely delicious, so I’m looking forward to it.
“Well, the orcs are even higher in points… I’ve secured the meat, but I still don’t have the courage to eat it…”
Orcs are two-legged, pig-faced monsters.
Like goblins, they wield weapons and are a nuisance, but I was able to easily defeat them with mid-level magic.
From the sheer strength I saw from a distance, I wouldn’t have wanted to engage in close combat with one.
Of course, I defeated them from a safe distance using magic.
Safety margin is important.
By the way, orc magic stones are the size of golf balls and worth a whopping 10,000 points!
I plan to exterminate their lairs when I find one.
“Alright, today we camp here!”
It’s been two weeks since I reincarnated into this world, and I feel like I’ve been talking to myself more due to the loneliness.
I try to talk with my cousins on messenger as much as I can, but it feels embarrassing when I come back to my senses.
Since there was no water source, I decided to make camp near a large berry tree today.
Lately, whenever I find fruit trees, I’ve been thinning the surrounding trees.
As a thank you for the delicious fruit, I’m giving them more sunlight.
I quickly cut down nearby trees and sent them to my Item Box, removing any annoying roots.
I’m quite used to this now, and in about ten minutes, the area was cleared. I set up my tent, installed a tarp, and arranged the cooking station and tools.
“I think I’ll make pasta with the meatballs I prepped.”
Meatball spaghetti always reminds me of a scene from a popular anime.
Even as a kid, it looked especially delicious.
I remember making it for my cousins after they insisted on having it, even though I was in elementary school.
“I just boiled the pasta in the microwave and mixed it with canned sauce.”
The meatballs were pre-made lunchbox items from the fridge, but my cousins were thrilled, happily eating them.
“Even now, as an adult, it’s still pretty much the same level.”
I laughed quietly as I boiled the pasta in a frying pan. Though I had a can of whole tomatoes, I didn’t want to bother making the sauce, so I decided to use ready-made tomato sauce.
I boiled the pasta a little firmer than usual, drained it, then added olive oil before tossing in the pre-made meatballs.
After mixing it with the store-bought tomato sauce and heating it up, it was done. Cheers to taking shortcuts.
I didn’t want to bother with serving it on plates, so I just placed the frying pan on the table.
Since I had a lot of meatballs, I made sure to add plenty to the dish. I sprinkled some powdered cheese and Tabasco on top before digging in.
I ate greedily, just like the characters in that anime.
The pasta and sauce tasted familiar. Well, it was decent. But what stood out was the venison meatballs.
The deep-fried meatballs were delicious, but they were even better in the tomato sauce.
“Tomato sauce has a pretty strong flavor, but these meatballs hold their own. I wonder if it’s because the meat flavor is so rich?”
Either way, it was delicious.
I couldn’t stop eating. Now I understand why the anime characters were so eager to eat—it’s the meat that makes the pasta go down easily.
I ate it all, my face smeared with sauce. Venison is amazing. I’ll make this again.
“I’m looking forward to tonight’s hamburger steak.”
After tasting venison, next up is wild boar.
Now I understand why the meat is called “botan meat”—it’s such high-quality, lean meat. I wonder how I should cook it.
“Right, I should send a picture. They’ll remember that anime and feel nostalgic.”
In a good mood, I sent a picture of the meatball spaghetti, only to get scolded by all three of them for sending such a food terror image. I don’t get it.
