Chapter 13

Summoning Magic

“I thought it was quite a cheat skill to be able to summon and purchase items from Earth, but I didn’t expect it to have a level-up system.

‘So my current level is 3…’

Since the only magical beasts I defeated were slimes, grass mice, and horned rabbits, it’s a reasonable outcome.

‘It’s still the first day. I wonder what level I need to reach to summon items from other shops?’

I tapped on the shop list.

The shops I could use were displayed in black, while the names of other stores appeared in a light gray font.

Below the name of a certain 100 yen shop was the name of a 300 yen shop.

If I think about it logically, the next shop that will be unlocked should be this 300 yen shop.

‘The quality should improve compared to 100 yen products, and the variety of items will likely increase.’

I occasionally shopped at 100 yen stores, but I had never been to a 300 yen shop, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

After all, it seemed to be a store focused on fancy goods. They had cute, glittery items and Scandinavian-designed daily necessities, which I thought girls would love.

‘I wonder if   Natsuki would be happy. She acts cool, but she couldn’t resist cute items.’

A teenage girl had been separated from her parents and kidnapped to another world.

To help ease her troubled feelings, I thought I’d do my best to level up and send her cute items.

‘Now, what about the 100 yen products… Ah, wow, there are plenty of food items too. That’s great.’

I knew a few 100 yen shops, and it seemed that the largest one was available for summoning through the magic online shopping.

Among stores that only dealt in daily necessities and goods, it’s nice to have one that offers a reasonable variety of food.

‘Even if my current food supplies run out, being able to summon items for 100 points is a lifesaver. Canned food, bread, cup noodles, and even pasta and somen!’

Of course, there were various condiments as well as salad oil and packed rice.

There were also plenty of bottled drinks and snacks.

‘In the past, 100 yen shops only had obscure brands of food, but recently they have major brands as well…’

I was surprised to see that the most popular instant noodles were well-stocked, albeit in a smaller size.

Snacks from popular manufacturers were also being sold. You can’t underestimate 100 yen shops.

‘There are a ton of daily necessities and goods too. They even have socks and underwear. Camping gear? They even have tents and hammocks!’

I was astonished. Unfortunately, since I couldn’t purchase them with just 100 points, their names were reversed.

‘Huh, this is interesting. Once I can buy them, I’ll try summoning one. I didn’t bring a hammock, so I want one…’

The wagon I borrowed from my uncle had great storage capacity and came with a roof rack. I had strapped bulky items like tents and sleeping bags onto the roof rack, so I managed to pack quite a bit.

However, there was still a massive amount of luggage for four people spending four nights and five days, so I had reluctantly given up on bringing a hammock.

‘After all, there were enough perishable items to fill two coolers…’

By the way, I planned to buy vegetables and fruits at a roadside station about thirty minutes away from the mountain lodge, so I didn’t bring many with me.

‘Of course, there are no vegetables at the 100 yen shop, so I hope I can find something in the forest.’

Actually, recent 100 yen shops sell supplements. If worst comes to worst, I could use those to cover any vitamin deficiencies, but I’d prefer to eat fresh vegetables and fruits.

‘Huh? They sell vegetable seeds! If I can’t find any vegetables, I can always grow some.’

I hadn’t been interested in home gardening at all, so I hadn’t noticed until I looked at the products for sale.

The variety of vegetable seeds was surprisingly rich.

They had cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, carrots, radishes, and even okra. Leafy greens were plentiful too, with lettuce, spinach, cabbage, komatsuna, bok choy, baby greens, and even butter lettuce!

‘I’ll plant some beans too. Oh, snap peas! These are delicious, so I’m definitely going to plant them. Shiso, green onions, and broccoli would be nice too.’

I excitedly added to my wish list. While these seeds were a reasonable 100 points, I could quickly run out of points if I summoned too many at once.

I decided to think about vegetable seeds and gardening supplies after arriving at the great forest and establishing a base.

‘Surprisingly, it’s fun to browse through 100 yen products. There are so many unexpected surprises.’

Usually, when I stop by a shop, I only buy consumables like stationery and daily necessities, so this selection exceeded my expectations.

I never expected to find cushions, blankets, and cosmetics at a 100 yen shop.

Container cases could also be useful for camping, so they might be quite a bargain.

‘Oh, and there are plenty of plates and cups too. Mino ware? They even have branded tableware…’

I wondered if it would be a good idea to resell such items in another world.

Thinking about it, there’s no currency here.

Even though I’ll be living in the forest for a while, I sometimes feel like I want to sneak into town, so I should think about it.

‘Well then, since this could go on forever, I’ll stop here. Ah, maybe I should send those guys some seasonings first.’

After some hesitation, I summoned salt, pepper, soy sauce, and mayonnaise, and sent them to my cousins.

‘Make sure to share and use them carefully.’

‘I’ll send you some seasonings so you can manage meals for a while. I’ll send you various items one at a time. Just so you know, I can only purchase products from the 100 yen shop for now, so don’t expect too much.’

I sent the above email. I quickly received a mix of responses filled with both joy and despair. It seemed they were having a tough time as well.

To help them live a bit more comfortably, I decided to keep sending 100 yen products bit by bit for a while.

I closed the status board and took out the magic book given to me by the Creator God from the item box.

The light from the life magic would go out in about thirty minutes.

Until then, I would use this magic book to gain knowledge.

I opened the ancient book, lavishly decorated with what appeared to be animal hides, to the page for acquiring magic.

I was reading it with interest, but I must have been tired because I ended up dozing off. That marked the end of my first day in this other world.
