Glossary

Character Descriptions

Ainzich von Sil Bartia
16-year-old male. A reincarnator with a previous life as a Japanese person.
At first, he was excited about the new world and aimed to master swordsmanship and magic, but he lacked talent and faced setbacks.
He changed his approach, planning to live moderately by leveraging his past life knowledge as a cheat, but in a time of chaos, such a way of living was not permitted, and he got caught up in the turmoil of war.

Gilbert Gad Vaiwal
41-year-old male.
Leila’s father and head of the Vaiwal Count family.
He is an exceptional swordsman, said to be one of only a few Aura Sword users in the kingdom. He possesses not only physical strength but also strategic prowess.

Lemaire Kelman
20-year-old male.
Ainzich’s brother and the third son of the Vaiwal Count family.
He was the best magic user in the count family, but due to his strength, he was seen as a potential cause of family strife, leading to him renouncing his claim to inheritance and marrying into a baron family.
He is not particularly interested in power and lives freely.

Herbert
64-year-old male.
A former knight of the count family and the chief knight of the Bartia Duchy.
He has accompanied Ainzich since his childhood and trained him.
While not as strong as a count who wields an Aura Sword, he can use aura to buff his physical abilities and is known as a fierce knight.
Having served the count family for many years and experienced numerous battlefields, he is knowledgeable and often serves as a consultant for Ainzich.

Werner
16-year-old male.
One of the orphans Ainzich picked up from the slums, wanting a subordinate.
He is the second-best swordsman among Ainzich’s retainers, after Herbert.
His personality is that of a loyal dog, charging headfirst into challenges.
Attempts to correct his speech have been made several times by those around him, but he has never improved.

Erich
18-year-old male.
One of the refugees Ainzich rescued. His previous history is a mystery.
He has only been a retainer for about four years but is sharp-witted and capable of using magic.
Despite being a newcomer, he is trusted and stands alongside Werner among the retainers.

Leila von Sil Bartia
16-year-old female.
The daughter of the Bartia Duchy, Ainzich’s fiancée.
Raised as a sheltered girl, her father saw her merely as a diplomatic tool and did not show her much affection.
Though she felt sadness at her father’s death, she did not shed tears. Initially wary and rejecting of Ainzich, she gradually began to open her heart due to his thoughtfulness.

Leila
36-year-old female.
She has long served as the head maid of the Bartia Duchy.
Since that time, she has cared for Leila, who tended to avoid others, acting as a mother figure to her.

Mimi
15-year-old cat-eared girl.
She has served as Leila’s dedicated bodyguard since childhood and is one of Leila’s few friends.

Jacob
38-year-old male.
The chairman of the Golden Sheep Trading Company.
He had maintained a long-term cooperative relationship with the Bartia Duchy, but as the Duchy fell, his company also declined. He considered cutting ties with the Bartia family but decided to invest in potential after meeting Ainzich.

Mikhail
21-year-old male.
Jacob’s son and the vice-chairman of the Golden Sheep Trading Company.
He probably won’t appear much.

Gregory
The leader of the Gregory Mercenaries.
He has decent skills and a sharp mind.

Geographical Descriptions

Silria Region
Refers to the rich granary area located to the west of the Orland Kingdom.
There is also a sea a little further west, where pirates once roamed, but the kingdom subdued them, and some were even employed as nobles. The Bartia Duchy was established by the king’s younger brother at that time to control this region.

Orland Kingdom
The kingdom to which the protagonist belongs and the setting of the story.
The royal family’s power is weak; it’s more accurate to describe it as a coalition of nobles in the Orland region.
The cause of the internal strife was the king passing away without designating an heir, leading to a conflict between the duke, who was the king’s brother, and the crown prince. This conflict has lasted for about 20 years, with no resolution in sight.
This is the first time I feel like I’m mentioning the name of this country.

I summarized various characters since the number has increased a bit.
Looking at it this way, it feels surprising to see how many characters I’ve introduced!

I’ll continue to update gradually, so if you don’t mind, please consider following and liking this (greedy).

I’m the fifth son of a count’s family, but I became the head of a duke’s house.
