We made good progress, even breaking through the traps, but the sun had completely set by now.
The evening light faded, and the dark of night enveloped the Sky Tower.
The stars seemed closer than they would on the ground.
It’s quite a view. After all, there’s no higher vantage point than the Sky Tower.
Arnella, with her hand on Mastema’s shoulder, was enjoying the view outside.
While we could provide light to continue our way, there was no need to rush.
We had climbed at a high pace simply because our progress was exceptional.
This party’s adaptability is more impressive than its strength.
We hadn’t taken any damage, and Victor’s healing would cover us if we needed it.
For now, Sepia was taking charge.
She hadn’t even needed to draw her sword.
Naturally, Sepia had become the main firepower.
“We’ll spend the night on this floor.”
“Understood, I’ll prepare everything.”
Upon hearing my words, Noel promptly retrieved the tent from the baggage and began setting it up.
Arnella had Mastema assist her with preparing dinner.
Sepia hesitated for a moment but eventually joined Noel, learning how to set up the tent under her guidance.
Watching them, I sat down on a nearby rock.
Old memories came to mind.
Back then, I would set up the tent while Kasugal cooked, and Renatishia put up barriers.
Those were days long gone.
Though I feel a sense of nostalgia, I don’t wish to return to those times.
Come to think of it, those days were tough in their own way.
Arnella and the others prepared a stew packed with vegetables and cut bread.
“Mastema made this stew, you know.”
“I think it turned out pretty well.”
“Oh?”
Maybe after eating meat earlier, I was now craving vegetables.
The smell was mouth-watering.
Sepia and Noel, having finished their tasks, joined us.
First, we all washed our hands.
Washing up before meals is one of the most basic rules for adventurers.
Failing to do so can lead to sickness. Without a priest, falling ill could end any expedition.
Thankfully, water is easy to produce with magic, which is incredibly convenient.
The best part about becoming a mage was probably this.
Water is bulky and heavy to carry.
Even if there’s a river nearby, there’s no guarantee the water is clean.
Some of the vegetables were from monsters, but once cooked, they were just as edible.
The stew was well-cooked and delicious.
I complimented Mastema, who puffed up with pride.
She’s adapted well to human life.
It’s good that she hasn’t grown bored of it.
After finishing the meal, we had some digestive tea and relaxed before retreating into the tent.
Bringing two tents would be unnecessary, so everyone shared one.
At this pace, we might reach the top sooner than expected, but only time will tell.
Sepia curled up behind me, likely feeling a bit cold.
I slowly closed my eyes.
