Next up is the magic studies class…
Well, as expected,
It was a lesson not worth listening to.
I suppose I’ll just refute the teacher and forcibly earn the credits.
I listened to the teacher for ten minutes, but it was really meaningless and worthless.
So, I kicked the teacher away and grabbed a piece of chalk.
“First off, you’re all idiots. There are no attributes in magic, only properties.”
Fire – Vibration Water – Form Change Wind – Vector Manipulation Earth – Matter Creation
I wrote the above on the blackboard.
“These are the properties, and theoretically, anyone can use any type of magic as long as they have enough mana.”
“Wait, wait a minute, what is that heresy? And what do you mean by ‘vector’?!”
Francis said something, so I pulled Francis up to the podium.
“Hey, you supposedly use earth magic, but that’s a lie!”
“Th-that’s impossible! My family has been…”
“That’s because your mana circuit is optimized for matter creation. So, when I rearrange your mana circuit like this…”
I infused Francis with mana.
“Ah…?!”
Francis trembled violently.
It seems that altering the mana circuit brings sexual pleasure.
“Now, say ‘Pop Water Mana Ad One Output Front’.”
“Wha… What? No, it’s impossible!”
I created a blade and said,
“Do it.”
“Eek…! Okay, okay! Just don’t complain if it doesn’t work! ‘Pop Water Mana Ad One Output Front’!”
Water appeared.
“Huh?”
“What?”
“What?!”
“What?!!”
“So, as you can see, the theories you all believed in were entirely wrong. It’s hilarious!”
The class was in an uproar.
“Master!”
Oh, Yuki.
“I too, want to try using a different attribute!”
“Alright, come here.”
I rearranged the mana circuit and let them use a different attribute magic.
“Pop Fire Mana Ad One Output Front… Wow! I did it!”
“Excuse me, may I try as well?!”
The saint, Grace.
“Come.”
“Pop Soil Mana Ad One Output Front… I did it! This is amazing!”
Hmm, that’s about it.
“Excuse me, me too!” “Me too!”
Other nobodies said the same thing but…
“No way, you guys aren’t my subordinates.”
I refused.
And then, I continued.
“Also, you guys are terrible at using magic. Why do you only use such convenient techniques for combat? You’re too dumb.”
This sums it up.
To have such convenient magic and not utilize it industrially is too foolish.
“But, magic is sacred…”
One idiot said, but…
“If it’s sacred, use it to help people, moron.”
So, I said.
“So today, as a special service, I’ll teach you convenient magic even you idiots can use.”
I revealed the magic I roughly created.
Fire – Sound Transmission (Sound Move) Water – Dirt Removal (Clean) Wind – Strength Enhancement (Power Up) Earth – Salt Generation (Generate Salt)
Sound Transmission is a fire attribute magic that manipulates vibrations to deliver sounds (air vibrations) to a designated place.
Dirt Removal uses water attribute’s property of shape change to turn dirt and grime on the body into gas, cleaning it.
Strength Enhancement uses wind attribute’s vector manipulation to double the movement of the body.
Salt Generation? It does exactly that.
The smart ones realized the tactical value of these spells and showed expressions of astonishment.
Most of the fools, however, wore looks of confusion.
Can’t be helped, I’ll explain…
Just as I thought that,
“Fools… can’t they see the tactical value of this?”
A boy spoke up.
“Indeed… This will change warfare.”
Francis, being from a martial noble family, also seemed to understand.
The boy…
A well-built guy with brown hair and a piercing gaze.
He introduced himself as Zes, the eldest son of the Howl Count family, and said,
“First, this Sound Move… it makes messengers unnecessary.”
Indeed.
You wouldn’t need to bang gongs or blow trumpets to give orders.
Plus, you can send direct messages, allowing for detailed instructions.
Well, I could make a wireless communication device though…
“And Clean, this is also excellent. The number of soldiers dying from tetanus on the battlefield will be greatly reduced…”
True.
In this world, people die from tetanus if they get injured.
They know by experience to rinse wounds with water, but there’s never enough water on the battlefield…
“Power Up is also excellent. With double the strength, even a child could overpower an adult.”
Indeed.
Being stronger is never a disadvantage.
“Generate Salt, this too is useful. It’s common to run out of salt on the battlefield. Even a little would be helpful.”
True.
From a logistics standpoint, running out of salt is disastrous.
This spell produces about 50 grams of salt at a time, perfect for a military pot.
Humans need about 2.5 grams of salt per meal, so it could sustain twenty people.
In this world, wars don’t mobilize tens of thousands of soldiers like on modern Earth… or rather, there aren’t that many soldiers to begin with.
For a skirmish at a count’s level, about five hundred soldiers would be mobilized.
So, this spell could supply a meal’s worth of salt for all soldiers with twenty-five uses.
This spell is of a beginner level, so twenty-five uses should be manageable.
“Anyone who doesn’t understand the value of this magic shouldn’t be a noble.”
After saying that, Zes thanked me…
And the end-of-class bell rang.
Magic Studies Basics
Currently, this is the fundamental magic study for constructing magic applications using the M language, which is the mainstream in the world.
Proposed by Exus Xanadu, the founder of modern magic studies, and compiled by his disciple and assistant Ada Jibril.
Even today, it’s a concept touched upon in all educational institutions, laying the foundation of magic.
Its innovation in categorizing elemental effects into basic properties was notable even at the time.
